August 14, 200917 yr I'm saying I don't believe tax dollars should be used to pay for health care under any circumstance. We get that you don't like the concept of your tax dollars being used for healthcare "under any circumstance." So your vote would be to let her die, correct?

I guess I'll have to break it down for ya.... I would not "vote" for anyone to die, ever. If I had the money to do so, I'd gladly pay the child's costs. What I'm not okay with is the government taking my money without my okay, and doing what they want with it. It doesn't just apply to healthcare, but all government funded programs.

Since you won't "vote" for anyone to die we shall assume then that you're OK with your tax dollars being used to give the required healthcare to the young child? Or do you want them to call you each time to get your "okay?"

August 14, 200917 yr UKMF: I can't help but wonder who's paying for your insurance premiums, which must be absolutely freakin' outlandish?
August 14, 200917 yr You know what they say about assuming.... What's so hard about answering the question DIRECTLY as to what you would say about the girl. Do they give her care or not in your world?
August 14, 200917 yr UKMF: I can't help but wonder who's paying for your insurance premiums, which must be absolutely freakin' outlandish? They are actually a lot more reasonable than you would think....I pay 25%, my company pays the other 75%....
August 14, 200917 yr I believe we need healthcare and cost reform. However, I think many Americans are nervous because under this administration, it seems that they are looking at these areas that need reforming (which is a good thing), but getting out the checkbook when there is no money in the bank (which is a bad thing).
August 14, 200917 yr They are actually a lot more reasonable than you would think....I pay 25%, my company pays the other 75%.... I'm kind of shocked by that. I would think a pre-existing condition would make you look like nuclear waste to your company's insurance carrier.

Consider yourself extremely fortunate that your employer covers that much, and that your parents covered for you while growing into adulthood. Most people aren't so lucky as to have that support.

Most people aren't so lucky as to have that support. I know nothing of the situation but instead of lucky, I see that as possibly having parents who are doing their job as parents and then him being an employee that the employer wants to not lose and provides good health care. I wouldn't classify either as lucky.

August 14, 200917 yr Last time I checked employers who had health plans picked up about 80% of the premium for the employee and 70% of the premium for families.
