July 15, 200917 yr In my honest opinion I could've waited to see this movie until it came out on USA or TBS. I mean don't get me wrong I like all of the Potter movies and really enjoy the story, but this one really didn't do it for me. It really had a decent plot with a ton of different scenes that lead into the Deathly Hallows movie. But overall I would rate this as the worst of the first 6. This is just my opinion though, what did everyone else think?
July 15, 200917 yr I would not rate it the worst, but I will say that this movie is very much a "bridge the gap" type of movie. Without it, non-readers wouldn't have a clue what was going on in the next one. I thought one great aspect of the movie was the relationship building. The relationship story-lines were great.
July 15, 200917 yr I will break this movie down here some:lol:. One thing I will say is that when the Inferi grabber Harry's hand it scared the bejeezus out of me. Also to the people who in seen it at the AMC in Newport I feel sorry for you, I heard there was technical difficulties and it didnt start til 1. Now to the movie. My headline says it all. There were so many things that were left out in this movie and since I have nothing to do I will go over some of them. Do not think that I am bashing the movie in ANYWAY because I happened to like it but I say what they could have done to make it much better. 1. There was NO fight at the end which kinda upset me a bit because that was something that I was looking foward to. 2. They didnt show much of Quidditch like they promised, which leads to my next point. 3. There was not much about the Harry and Ginny relationship like there was in the book. 4. There was no funeral for Dumbledore at the end either. 5. They didnt go into detail that much of Horcruxes, which is basically the entire last book. 6. The scene with Bellatrix and Fenrir made no sense at all to me. They could have left out that scene and it would have made no difference to the movie at all. 7. There was nothing about the Minister of Magic other than a little ad in the newspaper. I hope take ALOT of time into DH because they have alot of stuff to make up and fit into the movie. Okay, I am done, for now:lol:.
July 15, 200917 yr I haven't watched it...and probably won't unless I catch it on TV sometime. But, I have heard from friends that it was probably the worst of the six.

Okay, I am done, for now:lol:. 1. I too was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a fight scene at the end, however, I caught myself thinking, "This is rated PG and that must be why." 2. I'm glad they showed any of the Quidditch scenes at all. 3. Yes, the movie was much different from the book on this, but I thought it was pretty well done. 4. Kind of sad, but I knew this going in to the movie. I honestly didn't think we'd see Fawkes at the end, so I was glad they at least included that. 5. I kept waiting for more about the horcruxes. Other than Slughorn's dream, that's really all we get about them, but I suppose we'll get to hear a lot more about them in the next movie. 6. I suspect this is what will upset most of the Harry Potter fans who like the books more than the movies. My guess (right now) as to why they added this is because I think they are going to leave the whole marriage scene with Fleur and Bill's wedding reception out of the first DH movie. I don't think the movies have ever made mention of Bill and Charlie, so to bring them into the movies at the very end might throw some people off. Since the Burrow is now gone, there cannot be a wedding reception there, and though this is where their journey begins in the book, I think they might pick up right after this scene for the movie. 7. Agreed. And I don't think we will hear much more about the Minister of Magic in the next two movies either. On a side note, I think Gambon played the part of Dumbledore better than he has in any of the other movies. I have not particularly been a fan of Gambon's portrayal of Dumbeldore, but I think this movie was his best performance. Oh, and Maggie Smith was looking very old in HBP, much older than she had in the previous installments.

Oh, and Maggie Smith was looking very old in HBP, much older than she had in the previous installments. I agree 1st bolded. To me this was the whole point of the book, and dumbledore dieing. 2nd bolded, I did not know there is going to be 2 more, how did you find this out and what are they going to be called. I read the book a week before the movie came out and finished it about 5 minutes before I left the house to go watch it. I noticed all the little subtle differences due to that fact, and I have to say, they followed the book pretty well, they strayed a little, but all in all a pretty good job. A few things I didnt understand though.
July 15, 200917 yr I can't stand the HP movies, but I've heard from many that went last night that this one was especially horrible.
July 15, 200917 yr I liked the first 3, then the fourth went down hill and these last 2 have been disasters. I say get the directors or writers from the first 3, because they have really gone down hill.
July 15, 200917 yr Also back to the Horcrux thing, it mentioned NOTHING of the other 2 memories that Tom Riddle were involved with. Also the fact that it didnt talk about how Dumbledore destroyed the Horcrux and about his hand.
July 15, 200917 yr No battle for hogwarts... minimal (if you could call it that) quidditch. No funeral (I was ready to cry after he died but they didn't give me the opportunity). No Fenrir mauling bills face... Very disappointed with the movie as a whole.
July 15, 200917 yr To be honest, to add everything remotely important to a Harry Potter Movie would make the movie over 5 hours long.
