True in regards to Orlando losing Hedo (although I'd take VC over him, it's still a solid player lost). All I'm saying is that VC, Jefferson, Artest, and Shaq are all in a whole seperate league from Rasheed. Perhaps the point is most accurate in regards to Richard Jefferson and Rasheed.

To me why I am not for the VC trade is the whole messing up of team chemistry. We can crunch the numbers how ever we need to in any trade. I really felt Hedo was the glue (no pun intended) that kept the Magic together.

I disagree. I think Rasheed is a very good player...very smart. He doesn't feel the need to score or dominate the ball, so his stats throughout his career don't do justice to his ability, IMO.

 

All of the guys mentioned are being added as complementary pieces. I think all fill a specific need for their teams.

 

Wallace gives Boston a strong low post defender, a guy with the length to alter or block shots, and a solid rebounder to pair with KG. On the offensive end, he can knock down threes or play in the post, he's smart, he's a good passer, and he doesn't demand touches like some guys. He'll fit in nicely, IMO. He'll fill in the blanks without cutting significantly into the other guys touches.

 

I may be wrong, but I really like this addition for Boston. If they stay healthy, I think they're a virtual lock to win the east.

Exactly. Boston didn't need a 20 point scorer. They have 3 HOF'er for that, plus Rondo. They needed the little things Sheed brings. I think if they can add a taller wing off the bench they will win the title.

I understand that it is more than numbers- ask any of the people who saw me play at CovCath, I was a garbage player in every sense of the word- but stats are worth something, and Sheed's just don't compare. As for chemistry issues, I don't see why it is assumed that VC will mess things up in Orlando (a guy going back home who wants to win his first title) yet Sheed will fit in (the King of the Technical Foul on a team that, IMO, is very tense).

No one in particular by the NBA live comment. Just don't think VC is a good fit in Orlando just based on stats. I think he will limit Lewis' effectiveness and stunt Howard's growth. I also don't think Nelson can be the matchup nightmare off the pick and roll that Turk was. I don't think VC is going to be a distraction, I think he just takes away parts of Orlando's game that enabled them to get to the finals this season. You cannot count on Howard to score posting up, especially on Boston. Lewis is ineffective after the first 3 seconds he has the ball. I think they will become more of an ISO team and will get exposed. Who knows, I've been wrong before and certainly will be again.

 

I think by chemistry people mean he's not a good fit. Sheed being emotional helps the Celtics, IMO. KG, Allen and Pierce will keep him under control as well. And if need be they can just sit him out. They are good enough to get to the finals and win it without him.

I dk if it really adds all that much to this team but we shall see. It's a good move for sure.

 

It adds a big that can step out and shoot and a former All-Star. If adding Jefferson makes the Spurs better and VC makes Orlando better, this definitely makes the Celtics better. They weren't that far off from beating Orlando in the playoffs anyway-even without KG. And I think they would have beaten the Cavaliers as well, so you keep KG healthy and add someone that averages 16 points a game for his career on top of having Pierce, Allen and an improving Rondo, and you have a darn good team.
