From seeing him on tape, how does he project differently from UK's John Conner. He could be a big bruising fullback who can catch a pass out of the backfield.

Dually noted. I am sure that members could name a whole list of D1 player from Kentucky that have played somewhere other then UK.

LB. Does anybody think he could play LB at UK if he had been offered? Congrats to this young man. He can flat out play.:thumb:

 

I watched him play two times last season. This kid plays inside LB almost as good as he does RB. This is not a joke, but the games I watched he had over 200 yards rushing and at least 12 to 15 tackles. He is the best player I have seen in the mountains in a long time. Congrats:clap::thumb:

It is great to see a mountian Back sign with any big time schools on 1A level. Congrats to Fugate on the commit to the Vols and I can't wait to see the big guy play this fall.

As for UK missing out and so on. Well, I agree at first blush but the UK staff have done a pretty good job at evaluating talent and determining who fits in their system, etc. I hope the kid succeeds but I am OK with UK passing.

That is somewhat misleading. Not every high school football player in the state of Kentucky dreams of playing at UK. There are many different reasons why kids choose different schools. I know some who chose Vanderbilt because they were studying pre-law. Someone else chose Ilinois because of their engineering program. You have some schools who use a different offensive or defensive scheme that can showcase their talents better than Kentucky.

 

And quite frankly, would you rather play for a team with a shot at playing for the SEC title and possible BCS berth or a team going to Nashville or Memphis every December?

Yes, but how many have went to other D1 schools and have not so much as received "We are interested" from UK. That should not happen. I know one D1 player that dreamed of playing for UK, they said they could not use him, he went on to have a very good career at one of the most dominate college football programs in the country, and UK couldn't use him?

Agree 100%....I seen him play once, And he was a man among boys...
