I'm not forgetting Menifee--and nobody else should either. They are capable. It's funny talking about the 16th region during the past few years. Who would have ever thought Morgan County, Elliott County, Russell, (and let's just throw Menifee in as a POSSIBLE contender next season) would have later Regional crowns that Ashland, Greenup, and Boyd. In any case, I don't really see a 16th region team making any noise in the state tournament next season. Here's hoping that I am wrong. I always root Elliott, then 62nd, then 16th, and then a Mountain school.

Really? In about 5 or 6 years none of us know what will happen in the region. The idea that the 16th has or ever will be loaded is funny to me. Traditionally, the 16th Region is either a one, two or three team race, or is so mediocre that many teams have a chance. The overall depth is never there and I don't see that changing.

I was laughing about the 16th being stacked. It's hasn't ever been and won't ever be.

 

No doubt EC and RH have alot of very good talent coming up. I saw a young group of EC kids this year (5th or 6th grade maybe??) and they were very advanced for their age. But even if those two are great, that really doesn't change the fact that the 16th wouldn't be stacked.

 

We'll see I guess. Plenty of talented middle school teams and elementary teams have went on to accomplish very little in high school. You really never can tell.

Greenup Co. = No guards + no top ten players in the region = another early exit in the post season.

I would say Rose Hill would have to be the favorite; Size, Athletism, and team chemistry. Not to mention the two best players in the area, in Gregg and Terry... With a nice up and comming PG in K. Bush. Plus more size down low with Kenndey, if he concentrates on going up strong and less fade aways

West Carter is pretty good. Look for them to make some noise this year and the nexr few.

They have point guard Prater back and their shooting guard Rees Justice is a fine prospect, one of the better shooters in the region. These 2 along with Williams, Lithcum, and Hampton will put them as one of the better teams in the region.

Prater has very limited experience. Starting only his second year of HS basketball. Justice is very limited in the athleticism dept....although he is a good shooter, it takes him too long to get his shot off.

 

What happens when they get pressed? Whose going to bring the ball up the floor and get them into an offense, one of their six centers?

 

But your right, they do have top five talent, but I think a very flawed roster with virtually no ball-handlers.
