I believe one of the games will be Dixie versus Beechwood.

 

I would like to see that. Right now, it's showing as a home game for Dixie on the schedule.

Two NKY teams playing each other doesn't do much for me. If they go to this I want them to play a Cincy team.

I understand what you're saying, but if it was SK and NCC, both of those teams played in the State Championship game the previous season. Kinda a small school vs big school, or tradition vs less established.

And give up the chance to play at a bigger venue and let the Kids get a great experience. I guess it is all about the money..... I know Highlands would do it, now Ryle on the other hand. Does anybody know if their is any truth to this. This all of a sudden doesn't make this 2 game match up such a question mark with some of us Bluebird fans.

I'm already getting reports from Cinti X fans wanting the Highlands vs X game to be moved to a bigger venue such as Nippert. I seriously doubt that Highlands is going to do so. We have a better chance of beating X at Highlands and Ryle has a better chance of beating us at Ryle, so you can't blame a coach for not wanting to give up home field advantage. I realize we moved a scheduled home game against Elder to PBS years ago, but that had more to do with the construction of the middle school and safety related issues than anything else. I've often wondered if we'd have beat Elder if we played them at home that year.

 

Furthermore, from what I understand, and I may be mistaken, Gamble is no fan of Highlands so I don't see him bringing a Highlands game to the party.

I agree. I'll still go watch them play as it should be a couple of good games, but in events like this, I would much rather see them play an out-of-state opponent.

I wonder if Highlands will refund all if any already purchased Foundation memberships that were bought by St X alums. They basically bought the memberships to secure their seats at that ONE game. Pretty pricey ticket to attend a High School football game. IMO....

They won't move the game in my opinion, but if they did, I seriously doubt the Foundation would return the money. Glad the Foundation is getting some extra money from the X folks. :thumb:

True. If the above poster is correct in what they are hearing in regards to Dixie/Beechwood also being played, it looks like we have our 4 teams. Looking at the NKY matchups for that weekend, the top 3 are SK/NCC, Dixie/BW, and Highlands/Ryle. I don't see any other matchups that would warrant a spot in this showcase.

Foundation members can, if they want to, sit in the new cafeteria and the outside balcony that provides a great view of the field in the north end zone. There are snacks and drinks served to members in the cafeteria also. We belong, but I've never used the tix or sat in the cafeteria. Membership does not provide a reserved seat in the bleachers. There are no reserved seats at all in the bleachers (just some that if you dare sit in, you risk bodily harm from the little old ladies that have sat in those seats for decades). Hope that helps.

Wow... there are actually Cincy Saint X fans who are paying $500 to see one game this year, when they could see the game anyway if they get there really early??? Yowza! Maybe there will be more Saint X fans than Highlands fans at this game, if this is any indication of the fan support Saint X has.
