I always wonder why they say "Kobe can't win one without Shaq".......to me, Shaq can't win a championship without D-Wade or Kobe....couldn't win one with Nash & Amare....and now, in a final attempt, he has to go to Lebron.

 

Who was the last player to win one by himself? Detroit was a complete team w/o a superstar, but I really can't remember one player dominating and winning one. Didn't MJ's Bulls make the Eastern conference finals while he was away suspended (oops I mean playing baseball)? Maybee Hakeem, but he had some pretty good players and MJ was out of the league. Shaq was by far the most dominating player when they were winning titles. He didn't ask out of LA either if I remember correctly. Kobe whined until he was gone b/c he wanted to do it himself. He held the organazation hostage by threatening to leave.

I wouldn't trade a declining Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire, who doesn't play a lick of defense and isn't very assertive on offense for LeBron, and I wouldn't try to go get Shaq either.

He is just a starting point. I would wait on bringing him in though. Cleveland Cavalier writers expect as many as 6 new players for the Cavs next season. Or atleast that is a projected target number. They have to get a bigger starting 2 guard. I really like Delonte West, but he would be better served as a 6th man, as he is a combo guard. They also need post help. Boozer or Villanueva are my choices as they can score from the 4 position. Of course if the Raptors feel like giving away Bosh then everything else can wait, but I dont' expect that.

Like I said, they had noone close to the talent of LeBron and those 2 you just mentioned are no where close to him. Putting them together would maybe come close but not quiet.

I don't know if Shaq made them worse. Amare's game got alot better with Shaq. I think the Suns problem was that they catered to Shaq's style of play rather than playing their own.

That team blew their chances when they were selling draft picks. If they kept Rondo and would have found a way to keep Joe Johnson all while getting rid of Marion they very well may have won a title if they ever decided to get stops.

The Cavs play slower and guard people in the half court. He's a huge upgrade over Ben Wallace and he would help them a lot. I'm just not sure what they do w/ Z. It still doesn't answer their biggest needs which are taller athletic wings.

I'm not sure the salary cap hit that you take with Shaq makes it worthwhile.

Yes and no. But, they should have played faster either way. The rest of the team was built for that, and Shaq would be a nice guy to start a break with some outlet passes.

Big Z will come off the bench next season if the Cavs make a trade for a big man. It will be his last season, he loves Cleveland and will do what ever they ask.

It's the same as what they would already have if Ben Wallace came back and they kept Pavlovic. I think they could get more for those two contacts but who knows.
