Whoa. Didn't see this one coming. Details?

NCC got 3 in the first--two walks followed by two base hits. Sainola settled down after that and pitched well. HHS got one on an error. Followed that up with another run the next inning on a walk, SB, and 2 wild pitches. Tied it in the fourth on a double by Head.

In the top of the 5th, HHS had 1st and 3rd with 1 out but a failed suicide squeeze attempt turning into a double play and changed the momentum. However, in the bottom of the 6th, with 2nd and 3rd and 1 out, they tried it again and Abner got the bunt down, the throw got away and 2 runs scored. Newman followed with a 2-out hit to make it 6-3. NCC got one on in the 7th but Sainola finished the game off.

Who pitched for New Cath?

Cain went 5, Rawe pitched the 6th & 7th.

I had no doubt that HHS would contend in this game with the big boy on the mound.

On a serious note...........Huge win for the Bluebirds as they are playing much better baseball right now. Hopefully with the right draw they can pick up a win or two in the regional and then who knows????????
