So is the 13th Region just wide open or what? Bell County, from the scores looks like one of the top teams in the region yet they were destroyed at Anderson County. Whitley seems to have some wins over the top teams but are inconsistant. Clay County has only lost twice but I was at the Somerset-Clay Co game and Clay was fortunate to only get beat 10-0 in that one. Are the teams in the 13th just really inconsistant or is the region down this season?

Maybe both. Pitching depth seems to be a real problem with most of the teams, once you get past their #1 and sometimes the #2, anything can happen.

Who pitched for Corbin? I was told that Watkins started and pitched pretty good, but that the relief help did not fare as well. I am guessing that Smith and Vorbeck are Corbin's #1 & #2 starting pitchers, then who(Matlock, McDaniels, Watkins)?

Ben Jones came in to close the 5th inning, then Josh Smith and Travis Smith picthed the 6th...I look for Vorbeck, McDaniel, and Jones to pitch today against Middelsboro.

Clay is fairly solid this year. I still don't think they have what it takes to close the deal. And that isn't even saying that they don't have the most talent either.

Pitching is definitely our achilles heal. I don't even know who would be considered our #1 and #2 pitchers. Vorbeck seems to be the most consistent. Caleb Watkins hasn't even pitched since little league and that was only occasionally . . . he comes in only when needed . . . and actually does a decent job considering he has never really pitched much before. We can play with anybody or anybody can beat us . . .it just depends on what team shows up.

I think that Clay and South are the probable favorites to win the region this year. But come postseason, you can never tell. Noone thought Bell would win it last year. Absolutely noone picked North to win it the year before. All it takes is one hot team at the right time, to have a darkhorse take home the title. The past 2 years it has happened, and it wouldn't shock me to see it again.

Have heard that Clay Co. vs. Somerset = Murphy's Law.

You're basing a lot on one baseball game. I hope MLB don't inherit your method of analyzing baseball teams.
