16thBBall Fan Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Final 5 inning mercy Greenup got 4 in the first and never looked back. Raceland really seems to be struggling.
oldrambler Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Keep playing hard Rams, GC is imo the best in the 16th. Districts are what it is all about so get focused. Congrats to GC on the win.
16thBBall Fan Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 Is it true Raceland lost last week to Fairview?
brewcrew Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Yes, errors are really killing the Rams. They committed 8 against Fairview. Hoof needs to quit being stubborn and make some changes.
Ram Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Congratulations to Greenup County, they will be a very tough out in the Region. Keep working Raceland, it will pay off.
sidelinedoc Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Congratulations to the Musketeers! Keep plugging along Rams, the most important part of the season is in 2 weeks.
BaseballDad Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 I know the Rams didn't want to show GC anything from the mound, but Raceland threw a 7th grader then an 8th grader against what I would consider a pretty good hitting team. Talk about throwing those kids to the wolves. I'm not knocking the pithchers at all. I'm just saying against a team like GC, I would expect VERY few 7th or 8th graders to be able to handle them. GC's offense has turned it up a notch lately. Peveto, Logan, Craft, Rice and Greenslate have been on a tear lately, while Reed is starting to get back to his old form. The defense has been playing better also, which is really good news for the pitching staff. By the way, I believe Zach James threw a no-hitter for GC. Congrats to him. :thumb: We'll see how much improved this GC team is come Fri & Sat in Lexington.

Musketeer_alum97 Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Way to go GC!!!! Keep it up boys. I am glad to see them getting their pitching under control. Hopefully they are just starting to peak.
sidelinedoc Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Yes, I believe winning 11 in a row and with pitching coming into it's own, GC is now placing itself as the team to beat in the Region.
