April 30, 200917 yr Author How good would Memphis have been had Cal stayed? With his commits that he had plus still having a shot at Wall, where would they have been ranked next year? 1st. He has got UK maybe in the top ten and has not coached a game.
April 30, 200917 yr Memphis is still returning a lot of talent next year. They are also a finalist for the services of Eric Bledsoe, along with UK. That is if he qualifies.
April 30, 200917 yr ^ Sean Taggert, Willie Kemp, Robert Sallie, Pierre Niles, Doneal Mack and Angel Garcia. These guys are all good players. Then they are adding 4star Will Coleman, and maybe Bledsoe and Latavious Williams.
April 30, 200917 yr If Pastner keeps the ship upright and continues to recruit well, Memphis can be an annual Sweet 16 team, while periodically making a run toward the Final Four. Now, if Pastner can't do that...then they will be a good team that can win the league and hopefully advance to an occasional Sweet 16.

April 30, 200917 yr There is no doubt Pastner can recruit, but I do not know that he is coaching material just yet. HE is one of the best when it comes to recruiting, but coaching will be a struggle at first for him imo.
May 3, 200917 yr They will miss Cali a lot obviously, but they will still dominate the C-USA and make good tournament runs year in and year out. Now obviously they will lose some games they shouldn't, their C-USA streak will be snapped, but Memphis fans shouldn't worry.
