Andy Roenker pitches a 2 hit shutout, also adding 6 K's. The offense exploded for the Indians; including 4 hits and 2 RBI's by Senior Steve Rickels. The Tribe advance to play the Somerset Briar Jumpers in the All "A" Sectionals on Saturday.

Very nice win for Holy Cross!

HC came out from the very beginning of the game ready to play. Bellevue has no life in them from the very start.

Great to see Holy Cross get the bats going. Roenker looked great tonight and got Jones to strike out and pop out. Hopefully they keep it going tomorrow at Beechwood and Saturday against Somerset.

Roneker was on top of his game. By far the best pitcher Bellevue has seen this year. Holy Cross came ready to play jumped on Bellevue in the first inning and never looked back. The tigers need to find some excitement for the Doc on Sunday or they won't fair any better. Congratulations to Holy Cross and good luck this weekend.

Congrats to Holy Cross on such a fine performance as well as their pitcher. It's great to see a pitcher take care of business. Just wish it wasn't against the boys of Bellevue! Hopefully the Tigers will be ready to complete the Doc Morris Sunday.

I heard that quite a few Bellevue players were ill with strep throat.

 

They had at least five with strep diagnosed earlier in the week. I'm sure none of the coaching staff would want to use that as a crutch though. It sounds HC played very well and came onto the field ready to play. Again, hopefully by the Doc Morris on Sunday, they can get refocused and ready to win some ballgames. :thumb:
