That means Boone in two days and a total of 10 innings vs Nutini and Etscheid had 27 hits, that is flat out ridiculous. Everyone can disagree all they want but this is the top hitting team in NKY. They have hit well all season and recently have even picked up the pace against two very good pitchers.

 

I second the motion, your honor. And, the Nutini shellacking was of the wooden bat variety.

No way that I could ever consider Darner and Isler in the class of pure athlete compared to Lokesak and Cotton. Maile is a D-1 player OBVIOUSLY but his foot speed is average so that knocks him down in the pure athlete category in my mind. Isler's only ticket to D-1 is pitching - he lacks the speed to play anywhere else at the D-1 level. I'll stick with my boys Lokesak and Cotton although I have not seen Hunter Jones play. We may be talking semantics with pure athlete and pure baseball athlete, so my bad if I have caused any confusion from that angle. It's good to keep TOG's blood-pressure up anyway.

I think they are both great athletes, and I misunderstood what you were saying, I apologize. Though I still would not put either of them ahead of the three at Covington Catholic. Agree to disagree, because it doesn't matter, they're all great at what they do.

I would definitely not rate Cotton and Lokesak as cannon-carriers, which is needed for outfield at the D1 level. But, they do everything else VERY well and are great athletes. It will be interesting to see how the season plays out. Again, give CovCath the slight edge at this time and good luck to the Blue Colonels.

But this is a baseball thread, not a track thread. Sure Cotton and Lokesak would win a track meet, won't argue with you on that, but Isler will be going to College at either UC, X, EKU, WKU, or Murray State it his choice at the moment. Maile has already signed with UK and there are those who don't think he will play a inning for UK.

 

Now I understand Cotton is a Junior, but the Senior Lokesak where is he going to school at and by this time last year the mail man was getting tired of carrying all the letters from universities across the Country to Luke home. So tell us where are these pure young athletics going to go to D1 school at!

 

BTW my doctor and my wife hate when my blood pressure jumps up, as I have already been on that operating table with the doctor playing with my heart! Six years ago May 11th 2003. :sssh:

I'll be pulling for the Boone County Track team to do well at Florence Freedom stadium around the end of May.

I'll be pulling for the Covington Catholic baseball team to win at Florence Freedom stadium in the baseball regionals. But I'll enjoy watching Boone regardless..

Well they will be playing on the Turf, but let me warn you if you haven't played baseball on a turf field (most of the CovCath guys have and those that haven't will do so this weekend in Louisville at St X) it's strange sliding into second and having to grab on the base or you keep on sliding. The slow guys don't have to worry but those track stars could slide all the way to short left field if they fail to grab a hold of the second base ball.

DD I truly don't know as that's up to the Mailes, UK and the IRS to know not me. Remember Colleges can only give 11.7 baseball scholarship and those go mostly to pitchers and Catchers. IMHO Maile is the better catcher of the two, as Luke has a better arm, but Farris man can he hit a baseball and he has the speed edge. If I had to choose between the two I would go with Luke as I think he has a better chance at the next level (pro) as his catching skills are so outstanding. When you throw in his arm and baseball smarts, along with his bat, well to me it's Maile. You truly can't go wrong by choosing one over the other.

Big win for Boone. They have shown they can hit Nutini and score runs.

 

Sometime last week they were shut down by Isler if I recall correctly.

 

So, Boone needs to hope that they don't face Ice.
