2009 McCreary Central

It was 53-6, look it up. Paint it any way you wish, but it looks like a 47 point loss to me.

You know it stikes me as funny that certain people want to get on here all of the time just to see how insulting they can be to someone else. I try to find the good when I can and on occassion I can't so I send a PM in order not to offend the masses. Several of our players get on here and read what you have to say so if you think you are only insulting coaches and adult fans then you are sadly mistaken. You are also insulting 15, 16, 17 and 18 year old children who work very hard at the game of football. It hasn't been to long ago, lets say around 20 years give or take that KC was a program not to much different than MC. They struggled to win a game or two a year but then someone had the insight to hire a good coach and put a little money in the program and the program started to make progress and today KC has a very fine football program. Well, I only bring that up because about twenty years ago the first district game that MC ever won was aginst KC I think the score was 7-6 (but I am not possitive) and now McCreary has a descent coaching staff that work well together and a group of kids who work hard with the will to win and we have been making a lot of progress over the last couple of years so we know that we are going to be much better in 2009 and our kids desereve to see their coaches and fans have that kind of faith in them and by doing so is in no way insulting to KC's fans. It was just between the 2007-08 season that Rockcastle fans were saying it would be a long time before KC would beat them but I think that prediction was wrong. I wish everyone a good summer and wish everyone luck with the 2009 season except when you are playing MC of course.

If at any time I posted that MC was incapable of improving then those "children" would be right to feel insulted. However, I see no slight in asking that you back up your claims on the field as Bell, KC, and Rock do.

I was only six years ago that KC was much worse than MC is now. In fact, 0-10 does not even describe how bad they were. I've been where you are and I understand it. Moral victories and close scores at the half won't cut it.

Also, I take exception to your "certain people on here all the time" comment. Read some of my posts before you type.

To be honest I wasn't pointing a finger at any one person but since you brought it up I have read many of your posts and if you are not talking about KC your posts seem mostly negative or insulting to the team you are posting about. Hay, that is yours and everyone elses right to voice their opinion in the way they want just as it is mine to point out as others have that our kids read this forum too. I think that is why when the moderators starts these posts they always say "lets keep it constructive". Like I said, I am not clairvoyant so I can't say how our season will unfold but we are working on our weaknesses and building on our strengths and with the dedication and hard work our kids are giving we think it could be a "jim-dandy" of a year. As far as you are concerned pepper II I am sure you are a real nice person I just don't think you understand how your posts come off to the people from the teams you are posting about. I take no offense and again wish KC a good 2009 season!

Back to being constructive, how is the filling of the large gaps on the line at MC going? Will they be able to fill some of the spots on the line that has moved on?

I think this will be the best offensive line McCreary has ever had. We will greatly miss Rusty Neal and Coty ball but the problem wasn't really the talent level it was a technique problem. The coaches have taken the responsibility for that and without getting into all the details I will just say that there are not enough coaches to go around at MC but I can tell you that the problem has been solved. Our spring practice was dedicated to two things. "O" line technique and to work on our defense. I can tell you that our offensive line will be 100% better than it was in 08 and our defenense will be 200% better. Since our kids have been dedicated to our strength and conditioning program they have gotten stronger which has made them much more aggressive. Like I said earlier we have around 15 or so that will literally knock the taste out of your mouth on every snap and in the past it has always been 2 or 3. So, in my opinion we have plugged the holes in the ship and we are ready to sail!

Sometimes Moral Victory and Close is the only thing you can get to build on. I don't think KC went from 0-10 to world beaters in a year. I dare say they had some Moral Victorys and close games before they really started to turn things around. Good Luck this year and we'll show up Sept. 25.

Now that Spring Practice is over and we're moveing into Summer, I'll project McCreary Starting line-up. On Off. Aaron Watts at QB 6'2 200. TB Zack Roark 6'2 210, FB Preston Shoopman 5'9 165. TE Cody Smith 6'3 225, Zack Ridner 5'11 185 or Tyson Williams 6' 4" 235, all will play alot. WR Jason Perry 5' 9 150 and Dustin Goins 6' 160. T Vince Staten 6'3 290 and Pat Perryman 6'5 240, G James Ball 6'185 and Steve Snead 5' 10 200, Center Rick Tripplet 6' 220. Should be able to move the Ball on anyone.

Every 6 weeks ends a cycle of strngth training and plyometrics in Raider Land and then the kids test to see if they have improved. Yesterday they ran the 40 and everyone had improved there were several keds who ran 4.7's and

4.8's and most of the uperclass lineman were in the low 5's. The fastest time of the day was by a freshmen who will be a sophmore, his time was a 4.6. They also test in a couple more areas such as the shuttle. Today the Raiders will be maxing in the weight room and I look for marked improvement there as well. These kids have been very dedicated and have been working hard. I truely believe the payoff will be the best football season in Raider history.

I've seen the Players and Coaches outside all Winter long, sometimes in the Snow. They look like they are working hard. That has to be a big help.

I would like to see a possible matchup between Somerset and McCreary Central in the next few years. Could be a good matchup. I know a few Somerset fans that live in Whitley.

I agree it would be great for the Fans and would be a good Gate for both schools.

MC is definately blessed with size and speed but were last year as well. I hope that they can fix the problems with the defense because they didn't play well on that side of the ball in 08. I also hope they can stay healthy. MC fans are expecting a good year and we will be disapointed if they don't finish better than 500% in 09! Everyone is behind you guys so go get'em Raiders. :ylsuper:

Who is charge of the Defense?

Sounds like a change should be made to get the team over the hump.

I think Coach Jones is the Def. Cord. with Coach Payne helping out. The Addition of Coach Bozeman will help the Def. along with the work done in spring ball.

We had 10 make the all district team (most ever) and only 3 were seniors. I think you will here the following names some this year: Preston Shoopman, Vince Staten, Dustin Goins along with Watts and Roark. We have several other tough kids who will make a huge impact but you know as well as I do that lineman type players don't get their name in the lights much! I can't tell you how the season is going to go because I am not clairvoyant but I can say this is the hardest working most dedicated group we have ever had and we had more big hitters and kids willing to learn and do it right in spring practice than we have ever had. So we are excited about the season and the kids know that they can beat people and they talk about how their hard work will pay off and that they are going to shock people this year. This is new territory for McCreary football and I am talking about believing in ourselves as a team! Can't wait until the season starts!

How do get on here and say you have 10 to make all district. Still have a losing season? How many all district players did Knox, Bell and Rockcastle have to make the team?

I agree with the new territory, but they still beat Madison Southern and go back to playoffs.

I say that because there were 10 of McCreary players that made the all district team do I need to write it in crayon. I thought you were a raider fan???????????? You would think that you would be happy that they made the team instead of acting like you think they don't deserve it. Remember, the other coaches in the district voted for those players, our coaching staff has 0 votes for our players so those coaches were impressed enough with the talent level and performance of those 10 players to give them enough votes to make the all district team. As for the other teams, I don't know how many players they had to make the all district team because my concern is our playes and as a fan it should be your concern. I get so tired of the "nay sayers" and it is those same people who think they know everything and know absolutly nothing. I am very proud of our kids accomplishments and how hard they have and are working during this off season. I hope that they get rewarded for their hard work but know matter what happens this season I will be the proudest coach in the state because they have and I am sure will continue to work like champions and that is all a coach can ask of his players! I hope we have better supporters out there than you are B.O.T.S.:irked:
