Times can always be disagreed upon. But, half a second is tough to argue.

 

No doubt he is quick and could possibly be a 4.8 guy, but for a timer to miss twice (I assume they ran two 40's), is tough to do.

 

The only way to get a correct time is to use electroniv timers. Watts in no way a speed Deamond by any stretch of the imigination. What makes him so tough to taclke is he changes direction and dosn't loose anything. On Def. he reads well and anticipates well, and gets a great jump on the ball. I HAVE SEEN HIM RUN AWAY FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPPOST TO BE SPEED DEAMONDS.

Now that the Wt. program is over, I can say from what I have Observed, this will be bt far the strongest team McCreary Central has ever put on a feild of any type. Just a few lMax Wts. Vince Staten 415 lbs. Bench 500 Sqt. Zack Roark 315 Bench 405 Sqt. Preston Shoopman 275 Bench 415 Sqt. Aaron Watts 275 Bench 405 Sqt. These are just a few. Good Job. Many more 250 + bench. Go Raiders!

Saw in the Newspaper where McCreary will start practice July 16Th. It's almost time and I can,t waite for the games to start.

There were 12 Raiders that survived the tough "Hawg Heaven" camp that was ran by Joe Prince at Campbellsville University on the 12th, 13th and 14th. There were 9 linemen(Patrick Parriman, James Ball, Ricky Triplett, Codey Smith, Cody Perry, Vince Staten, Jeremy Jones, Zack Ridner and Richard Parriman) and 2 skilled players (Zack Roark and Dylan Ross) that attended the camp that had 8 practices in 3 days. The Raiders did very well at the camp and a couple of players earned the attention of the camp coaches and Zack Roark was a stand out in the skills camp! Patick Parriman was one of two finalist in the defensive lineman competetion as he demonstrated strength and quickness as he went against the best offensive lineman at the camp. Codey Smith in his 2nd year of football also looked impressive as he was grouped with the camps best Offensive lineman. Even though Codey is a tight-end he is considered a lineman because he will block more than run pass routes and after the coaches saw his blocking ability improve as the camp went along we have discussed moving him to tackle. All-in-all we were impressed with the effort of our 12 Raiders and coming out of camp believe that their performance is an indication that we could have a very good season. I would like to thank Coach Prince and all the other coaches for a well ran camp it was a great 3 days of football! Go Get'em Raiders!

We have about 4 kids who will either start or play a bunch that are on vacation another 2 or 3 that have been working but have changed their schedule so they can start practice next week. about 16 of those already at practice are quality players and the reat are jv and freshmen players. We will have between 40 and 50 this year which is very high numbers for McCreary!

I was on the track both days. House of Pain you are correct I COUNTED 27 TH and 28 friday. A fine looking group Of young Men. Some people just want to Post everything Negative they can. IMO McCreary will dress 40 or 45 players this year.

Not sure what your meaning is by repeating this but any varsity squad with 16 or more quality players is fortunate. We rarely have more than 4 or 5 so I am glad to have as many as we have now. To bad your son quit, he might be one of our quality players!:ylsuper:

Does the Raiders have much firepower in the backfeild besides Roark?, or any threats outside for Watts to throw too?

Preston Shoopman(sr) is very fast (4.6 40 at the UK camp) and will be getting some touches in the backfield. This is only his 3rd year playing football and found a new level of confidence during spring practice. He will also play some slot receiver when in spread, like I said he is very fast and catches the ball really well. We also have a freshmen, Arlis Dopel who is a down right athlete and runs stride for stride with Shoopman, we think he will get some touches from the backfield later in the season but should get some reps at wide-out early on when the starters are needing a breather. At receivers we have Dustin Stephens(sr) and Dustin Goins(jr) who were all district players a year ago both have great hands and they are also very speedy. Dustin Stephens is probably the fastest player on our team. We also have Dylan Ross(jr) who ran a 4.6 40 at UK who will play primarily at slot receiver but may get some touches out of the backfield in spots. We also have a returning starter at slot receiver in Jason Perry(sr) who has very good hands and the experience to get the job done. Then there is our tight ends, Cody Smith(jr) 6'3" 220 and Tyson Williams(fr) 6'4" 230 both have great hands and big enough frames to be effective blockers. there are a few other skilled people who will contribute this season as well. I hope this gives you an idea of what we have to go along with Roark (who by the way is now 6'2" and goes around 215 and last weak he benched 375) and Watts (who is also 6'2" and goes 205). We think we have a very good supporting cast but only time will tell if their hard work will pay off!
