PP still came and Jai Lucas went to Florida and there's still debate on whether he'd have came to UK at all. It's easy to say that after BCG is gone because it can't be proven or disproved. Patterson and Meeks may or may not leave for a shot at the NBA. We've known that is a possibility all season. They still might leave for all we know. That's comparing apples and oranges. What you're referencing is people that would have left if Tubby left. This was more a UNC deal where numerous guys would have left if the coach CAME BACK. Completely different. Meeks is coming back next year. Patterson most likely will as well, but he still could leave.
March 28, 200917 yr Your memory must be a little hazy. I seem to recall that Crum took the Cards to the Sweet 16 in '96 and maybe '97 if I recall. He left the program in 2001 so you are saying from '86 to '01 they were always in decline? The truth is he was shown the door by Jurich because Pitino was available and interested. Had he not been, Crum (Hall of Famer) would have been around a little longer. If the removal of Denny was a cold and calculated as you say, why does he still go to every ball game? Why does he still stay involved in the university? Why does he work so closely with Jurich on fundraising ventures? It seems to me that everyone did what was best for the program at the time. Denny made a decsion to continue to help his university be successful by not coaching and letting someone else take the reins. They named the court after him! It was somewhat strenuous at the time with the fans as they did not want their beloved forced out. I think ultimately it was more amicable than the rumors would lead one to believe.
