Wow. Who pitched for both teams?

Looks like Boyd has some good pitching again this year! Raceland must have some pretty decent pitching as well.

Josh Wilson pitched for Raceland. Raceland should have won this game had runners in scoring position a couple of times with one out and could not get the runner in, also had bases loaded with one out and did not score. Give Boyd County credit they got the outs when they needed them. Boyd's pitchers was Moore and Wilder with Wilder getting the win.

Raceland stranded 11 runners, twice with the bases loaded. Good pitching from both teams. There were only seven hits total for both teams (singles) and only 2Boyd County errors. Both errors could have been ruled hits. Raceland is playing way ahead of last year and will only get better.

Nice article on the game on the front page of the sports in The Independent. Both teams are young. If you look at both rosters, I believe that both teams have only three seniors each. Both teams have a promising year ahead and bright futures as well.

Brett Moore, a senior left hander, started for Boyd County and Josh Wilson, a senior left hander, threw a complete game for Raceland. Chase Wiler came in in relief and got the victory for Boyd County. It is very unfortunate for Raceland's Wilson that he was saddled with the loss. He only allowed 4 baserunners on 3 singles and a walk. He picked off a runner (Spicer)and had him picked off again, but he broke for second and Raceland's first baseman was slow to get the ball from his glove and he successfully got to second. This set the stage for the run scoring single from Pettit in the home half of the 6th. Wilson's biggest problem was the inability of Raceland hitters to produce runs. Raceland left 11 runners on base in 7 innings. I don't care who you are or who you are playing, you leave 11 runners on base and you are going to lose.

I am surprised he went this long this early in the season, I would think 30-45 pitches would be the cut-off this early. I was at this game, Raceland should have won. Boyd looked very weak offensively. Both teams should be solid as the year goes on.
