Dlbdonn Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 (edited) Wow what a big turn around from what the score was between these two teams earlier in the year. Congratulations to the Rebels .Go Boone!! Edited March 12, 2009 by KyTmcNcc
KNOWITALL Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Wonder what the foul count was? :idunno: I bet they didnt let Rowan hack all the way up the floor in this one.:idunno: Mr. Viking will fill us in im sure.
Dfenz Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Rowan's a better team than 26 points. I wish these girls could go to Diddle with some confidence and put up a couple of wins. They're better than this!

Boone has a strong guard so pressure didn't bother them. It was rather ironic hearing a very vocal fan that was close by (Rowan fan) complaining the entire game about not calling fouls.

NCC06 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Nice win by Boone they could very well make a deep run.
HOOKSHOT Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 What went wrong then ? I'm sure somebody will give the stats, but Rowan didn't get any 2nd chance points and they shot 7 for 40something. They are a much better team than showed up, but some times the first round game is a tough one.
PrimeTyme Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Congrats to the Rebels, way to represent the 9th!

Be careful. It could happen to your boys.:walk:

marooncat Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Boone's guards simply dominated the game and their half-court defense was out standing. Almost a 40 point turn around from the first time they played. Heard someone say the 26 points was the second lowest in tournament history. Still, congrats to Rowan on a good season
HOOKSHOT Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 You have to give credit to Boone's defense as well. Well, since I didn't see the game I don't know that to be the case. Naturally one would think defense had to be a factor. I had no dog in this hunt but I seriously doubt a team would improve 33 points worth without the other teams play being down a little. Hopefully someone will post some stats so we can know if it was defense in the paint or open 3's missed, etc.:thumb:
Theoldguy Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 When one requests, Theoldguy produces.......... Click on the link below..... Boone County vs Rowan County stats WOW Rowan shoots only 16.7% from the floor and 6.2% from beyond the arch. From the look of the chart, they missed from everywhere and anywhere. OUCH!!!!
