I'm not so sure he was stalling as much as trying to get into something with Watts involved. Sometimes a team plays not to lose instead of to win, and that looked more like an impromptu stall, not a called one.

I thought McCreary's coach was kicking himself for calling timeout. I remember there was 4 minutes left when McCreary got the ball and after 1 minute, a timeout, and then a turnover, there was 2:04 left. Duke used to go to the stall offense all of the time about 3-4 years ago and all it did was let the other team back in the game. I have always liked attacking the basket regardless of the score when there is more than 1 minute on the clock.

 

True. It cost McCreary a few years ago in the opening round of the district against Wayne.

 

Yes, they stalled for a long time, perhaps two minutes, and got someone wide open under the basket for an easy layup. However, a second prior, Jones called a timeout and the basket was waved off.

Even though it was at Lincoln, I would have to say that McCreary may have had more fans. :sssh:

I'd have to agree. I was sitting on the McCreary side so they seemed louder, but I couldn't tell how much of McCreary was up top. From where I sat it almost sounded like it was a home game for McCreary. I had to stand up more than I wanted to just to see the action because McCreary's fans did not sit down much.

 

I loved the atmosphere. I can't say enough about it.

Yes. They stood the entire first quarter without sitting down once. They really enjoy it. They are a fun crowd. Especially the older woman that came down at halftime. She's an assistants mother and she had them play "YMCA."

 

She did the exact same thing with the same music at McCreary's two district games as well. I was very proud of the Raider Nation.

He may be still feeling some pain, but I think the way Lincoln played tightened him up some. He will likely feel better tomorrow - or even tonight, after this win.

Way to Go Raiders!!!!:thumb:I thought the Raiders were going to get rattled there in the 3rd quarter, but they regained their composure. The first FT Wright hit must have touched every inch of the rim before it fell(ala the 3 Sparks hit against Louisville). I am proud of the way these kids have came together over the last few weeks! It was an excellent game to watch and like everyone says the atmosphere was electric.

Just 20 free throws for a whole game? Only one of 3 things could of happened in this one: 1.Must of been a lot of shooting from the outside 2.not a whole lot of defense going on 3.the refs left their whistles in the locker room Sounds like it was a great atmosphere and game to be at.
