Final. Not much of a challenge after the first 3 to 4 minutes. Timmy Knipp did seem to have an ankle injury halfway thru the 3rd qt. and did not return.

Anyone back from the game yet from Elliott with an update on Timmy Knipp. I hope he is ok for Monday.

I left at the end of the third quarter and didn't see him in much pain. He was just sitting at the end of the bench with his foot up.

 

I hope he doesn't sustain a long term injury that effects the rest of the season, but Coach Mays should have pulled his started at halftime IMO. Stupid decision.

I agree they should have for sure been out when he was hurt a little over half way through the 3qt.

Congrats to Elliot on the win :thumb:. Keep focused and marching on towards your goals.:thumb:

 

Also, a nice job by Russell in getting to the regional tournament after the season that you had. Finishing 15th (records) over the season and pulling together for a first round district tournament win to advance to Morehead say alot about the Russell kids. They play hard every game for the entire game and the players deserve credit for not packing it in when it would have bee easy to do that.

Russell shot the ball well tonight just to many TO's that lead to easy Elliott baskets. Elliott still did not shoot well from the foul line again tonight. This needs to be corrected before the state.

Best game I seen Chris Knipp play, I hope Timmy Knipp is fine after turning his ankle. Congrats to Coach Kidwell and the Devils on a good showing.

Chris had a GREAT game tonight and I hope Timmy's ankle is healed and ready to play on Monday. Hopefully the day off will give him a chance to get it healed/rested up.

Good job guys. I think Chris played awesome tonight. He wants his all tourney team award too. Kudos Chris!

Maybe just me, but Russell seemed to be baiting Elliott to shoot the three. Not a good team to pick to play HORSE with. Although Russell shot the three pretty well you won't beat Elliott that way. It was almost like you are too far out to shoot so we won't guard you. Elliott rained down a barrage of threes from deep and beyond the line. Chris Knipp, Ferg, and T. Knipp was all nailing some deep treys. Chris had 15 the first quarter and finished with 25 and was on fire at the start of the game. Ferg had 24 and finished around the basket really well on the break. Timmy had two dunks and one was very nasty on the half court when he drove around his man and finished over the top at the rim. Saw Coach Biggs leaving in the third quarter after an Elliott run that put them up by about 30. Guess he had seen enough for one night, but is going to have to watch again on Monday!!!

Well everbody knew going in Elliott Co. was going to take this one. Russell did ok for their youth and size. They shot the three pretty well too. Elliott had 11 threes and Russell had 10. I think that was a regional record for the most 3's in a game. Good luck to Elliott at state.

Koudos to Russell and Coach Kidwell! They played outstanding. I sat by a man from Fleming County and we discussed Russell's record and their intensity and never say die attitude. Midway through the 2nd quarter, he turned to me and said, "Too bad Russell drew Elliott. They are way better than Ashland and Rowan." He had never seen Elliott County play (in the past several years) and he was singing their praises, Yes, but he was impressed with what Coach Kidwell had done with his young team!
