I think the scheduled 6 and 8 start times were to be sure and give enough time cushion for the first game. I don't think 15 minutes early is that big of a deal. If the first game starts at 6pm then I know about 7:30 the first will be finishing and the second will be about 20 to 25 minutes after so I am getting there berfore 8. Doesn't the state tournament work the same way as far as published game times but there is only 30 minutes between games?

The state tournament games always run late.

 

It's a tough call on scheduling back-to-back varsity games. 1 1/2 hours is too short a window, and 2 hours is obviously too long. 1 3/4 hours seems to be about right.

 

JV and Varsity games, scheduled at 1 1/2 hours works out because the JV games are only 24 minutes long, as opposed to 32 minute varsity games.

The celebrity game starting late was what forced the Holmes' game to start late though. I believe the celeb game was scheduled for 4:30 or 5 and didn't start until close to 6 or a little after.

 

Who can forget that wonderful celebrity game. I wish I could get that 30-40 minutes of my life back. My son asked me why all these fat old guys were playing basketball with a couple of Ben-Gals. I couldn't provide a good answer.

Starting 15 minutes early IS a big deal if you're only coming to the second game. There's not going to be a game going on because it started at 6:00 so why get there early? BTW, the NKU games are scheduled two hours and 15 minutes apart and the women's game usually leave about 45 minutes between games and they DO wait until 7:45 to start the men's game.

The state tournament games are only scheduled an hour and half apart and they run longer because they have a media timeout every quarter. As was stated, they typically run behind schedule because of that.

They put about 45 minutes on the board after the exceptionally quick Dixie/NCC game so that the Holmes/Ryle game would start at 8:00.
