The St. Henry and Beechwood both single "A" schools made the bigger schools lack of student support embarrassing. How does a school like Boone County that has close to 1,500 students have no one at the girls game on Tuesday and no one at their boys game tonight....

You are not the official score. Not your fault. There were 2 or 3 scorebooks there. How did all 2 or 3 of them miss it?

Ludlow's girls still have had the best following by far.

I'll be honest I'm not sure where they went wrong. I wasn't paying attention to it until it became an issue so I didn't see where they messed up. Good thing is it made no difference in the game. :thumb:

I'm not sure either but Highlands bench seemed pretty sure about it. Also, the radio or internet guy right next to the HHS bench had the score 44, not 43.

Are you serious? That is consider a large and loud student section?:confused:

 

A lot larger than two of the other schools, a little bigger than Beechwood's. They were the largest of the night though, lol.

Pretty ugly first half with Speed and Grubbs pretty much doing all the scoring. Grote must have been sick because he looked like death out there tonight. I really liked the way the Speed kid hung in the air and scored with hands in his face.

 

Grubbs was a force, he had to have more than 22 pts and he even had 2 big steals in the first half playing deny defense on the block. That kid has a ton of potential and could be a major force in this tournament.

 

Special K had a slow start but a strong finish. He is exceptional in the open court, they need to spread the floor more and get the ball in his hands. I thought Lother played a stellar 2nd half handling the ball and he clearly was the better point guard tonight.

 

I thought the first 2 minutes of the 2nd half set the tone for the game and I was surprised that Faust (who is such a great coach) didnt have a better plan for those two minutes. Seemed like their first possession with the ball they jacked up a 15 footer with nobody under the basket and the Birds got another run out for a bucket to go up 5. I dont think the Cru got any closer after that.

 

Ben Watson hit some big FT's in the 2nd half and Corey Dill played another stellar game off the bench handling the ball pretty well against the pressure.

 

I like the Cru's effort but they were outmanned physically. Very nice first round win for the Birds. They will have a much tougher game on Sunday. I hope they are all healthy.

As everyone knows, I am doing the scoreboard for the games and I'm honestly still confused as to what went on during that series. If I missed something then I'll apologize to the kid....okay so here is what we were trying to do.

 

The ref signaled in a foul on a kid from SHDHS who was not on the floor. He signaled 15 and we were trying to get that corrected and I thought I even blew the horn but I guess not. Well by the time we thought we had it sorted out, there was another foul called.

 

Like I said if I was wron on anything I will apologize to the kid on Sunday but I have to go with what the official book has and he, along with the scorers for both teams, had the score as being correct on the scoreboard at the time. So in that situation I am kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place since I have to go with what they have.

 

Fortunately it didn't play a factor in the game. Lesson learned for you. As soon as there's a question blow that horn and keep blowing it until you get an official's attention.

NDA IMHO had the largest student section so far but they were not loud at all, but indeed Ludlow girls had a very nice showing and thats three single A schools who had better crowds than Boone.....

I don't think NDA's was that big really. They might have been around the same as Ludlow's but I didn't hear a single peep out of them... And I was standing right in front of them. Oh yeah and they sat the entire game.
