March 6, 200917 yr Lake Cumberland, Warriors, generation Next, whatever you call them they are not playing in the 11/u state. They have a different name every year but they can play. They would win the state if they played. I think they are all going to Pulaski County as of now so I can understand why SW would bother you, sorry! If they are such a sure thing to win it, why in the world wouldn't they play????

March 6, 200917 yr If Wolfpack and the Rockets go D1, who are the favorites to win D1 and D2? I will take the Hoptown Hoyas in D1 and the NKY Suns in D2...Both D1 and D2 should be very competitive..

I was told yesterday that they needed one more team to have a D1 tournament. If not, there will only be one division.
March 8, 200917 yr After seeing the 10u state this weekend, I think it is best with just the one division. It keeps teams from sandbagging. It seems to me that you have to many really good teams playing down to avoid the very few elite teams in each division.

From what I have heard, there are 5 teams signed up for D1. I would think that would be FOCUS, Hoptown, Legends, Blaze and Rockets. The only one you could argue as "sandbagging" is the Wolfpack (last year's D2 champs). At the end of the day, it is the coaches decision of what to play. BTW, if it is true that 5 teams have signed up for D1, they should have a seperate tournament. IMO, the KBA should do it if they have 4 or more teams in any age group.

March 9, 200917 yr The only fair way to have separate tournaments is to have a state tournament where the 1st through 4th place teams would be the D1 qualifiers. Then the remaining teams would play the following weekend and compete for the D2 title. This is done in Florida and a few other states.

March 10, 200917 yr Author That is the Elite Basketball Academy, they will be solid, not a threat to win it. I have seen them play in Louisville a few times. Go to the Midamerica site and they will have played in tournaments there. Who are the Kings???
