If they lined up v.s those teams and competed in a track meet, Glasgow would win easily. That's the talent factor and Glasgow has that edge, but that's nothing new. They've had that edge over lots of people for years, some ending better than others.

I'd say from '99 to '05 that Glasgow had the edge against the teams in their district (Well, Green Co., Metcalfe Co., and Monroe Co.) But times have changed. I do hope however they get their mess straightned out and are able to return to the Eubank-era style of football. :thumb:

You must not have watched Glasgow and Monroe varsity game this past year. No. 27 for Monroe Kendall ran away from anybody Glasgow had on the field. Monroe also has speed at other positions. Glasgow will better no doubt but do not see them having a big edge over Green or Monroe.

Kathy Goff is the Superintendent of the Glasgow Independent School System. Kelly Bell is the Principal of Glasgow High School. I don't think they really had much choice but to make the decision themselves. Like I said before, why create a committee if your not going to listen to their suggestion? They should've just reviewed the applications themselves and not have gotten any other opinions. Should the school board have been involved? Personally I believe the school board should have other things to worry about rather then who the football coach is going to be.

 

I think the School Super and the School Principal should be the decsion makers in this situation... that's one of many responsibilities that they are charged with. What I don't understand is why in the world would they feel a need for a committee for community support? I am sure the football coach will be an educator at the school... and my opinion is that the Super and Pricipal are the best to make a decision from that point of view.

 

I feel for the coach and the student athletes at Glasgow High.

I just want Glasgow to regain and build onto their great tradition; dragging this out into more of a soap opera isn't going to help (not meaning to point out the obvious).

Like I said, it doesn't always mean that the fastests are the better teams. I am taking anything away from Monroe County this year. They had a very special team and I was pulling for them whole heartedly to make it to Louisville once they got deep in the playoffs.

Here is a prediction.

 

Glasgow will have more talent than any team in that district next year and will win the district.

I don't think people seem to realize that Glasgow is already behind every other district team right now because spring practice is starting and the Scotties are still coach less...

You are right about team speed being very important. That was the difference between Monroe and Fort Campbell. I just think this year team wise Monroe and Glasgow will be close in team speed with NO. 27 fastest man on the field.

Monroe was a game away from the state championship game this past year and I'm sure you considered them "contending for a state championship". That was also a Monroe team coming off a 2-9 season in which there wins came against 0-10 Adair Co. and 1-9 Allen Co.

 

It is 2A football. It is Ft. Campbell, NewCath and the rest fighting for the final spots in the final 4.

 

Spring practice probably isn't a big deal at 2A schools because typically your best players are playing other sports anyway. If it were the middle of June I may agree with you about the coach issue. But not in March. Glasgow will have a coach before March 20. That is 5 months for the new coach to work with his team.

Are they re-opening the job or just re-interviewing the coaches?

Who would want to be involved in this now? NO ONE!

It will be hard to find someone that is a quality hire. They will have to get someone that will be a rookie head coach or doesn't have a good record as a head coach. Only people getting hurt in this situation is the kids.
