I'd rather see the 9th region played at Holmes. I'm going to try to make it to the games at BOK. Between overtime work and my spouse going out of town on business it may be hard.

I just bought 3 tickets at the local Kroger off Ticketmaster for the Tuesday night games and it cost $33.75. The tickets are only 8 but then the service charges cost $3.25. I think this is too much and Tuesday will be the only day I am going. I realize that this is for two region finals but I would still just rather it be at the Fieldhouse or even over in Mt. Sterling. For the region I think the seats should be general admission which would mean first come first serve. Fans shouldn't have to worry about all this seating stuff until they get to Rupp. Hopefully this will be the first and the last time that the BOKC holds the 10th region tournament.

It sounds like your more upset with the drive than anything else. So you don't think Campbell, Scott and Bishop Brossart have a right to have the games close to them once every four years? BTW if you had gone to BOKC or waited until the day of the game, then you could have purchased the tickets for $8.00 without paying the fee.

 

Not sure but there might be a rule like in Cincinnati about festival seating, due to a concert years ago in Cincinnati where a lot of people got hurt

trying to get into the US Bank Arena for a Who concert.

Holmes fan? Lets see, no parking, hot, sweaty, bench seats, did I mention no parking! I am thrilled about getting to see the games at BOKC and and I am much, much closer to Ryle and Conner than BOKC. I also think the players will love playing on the floor.

I think the point is, there are going to be parking issues regardless of where the region final is held, so why do we need to talk bad about this school or that schools' facility?

 

All three ran great tournaments when it was their year to host. Let's just all be thankful for the KIDS that they have this opportunity to play at a great facility like BOKC that has more than enough parking, accomodates ALL fans that want to come, and most of all will prepare our 9th and 10th region representatives for a deep run at Rupp, by getting them used to playing on a college size court. :thumb:

I agree, :thumb:. I don't understand why some are complaining. Personally, I have about a 2 hour drive and I am thrilled it is at the BOKC.

I think once the people actually experience it, they'll be glad it was held here. BOKC does a nice job hosting high school basketball games and it will be ran first class.

Also for a team like Deming, one of their main goals over the course of the season is to make it to the region and now they get rewarded with a 10:00 o' clock game. To me that is just awful and makes it bad for the kids. I mean having to play the biggest game of the year at 10:00 o' clock, that isn't how it should be. I know that this isn't the KOB's problem but I just think that holding the girls 9th region and the boys 9th and 10th region is too much for it. I wouldn't have near the problem if when the 10th region was there that the 9th would be elsewhere. I know this starts a nonending debate but you can't fix something that isn't broken and it was doing just fine in the Fieldhouse.

I was sitting on the bench for the first Ninth Region Game at Holmes (1968) and I was sitting in the stands for the last Ninth Region game played at Holmes (2008). So I have seen the Holmes gym when it was consider one of the nicest in the entire Commonwealth and now 40 years later am glad that the Ninth is playing at the BOKC. I truly think that our ninth region teams getting a chance to play in a true college court will help whomever goes to Rupp.

Why couldn't the 9th region girls play their game first and then turn the gym over to the 10th? I think the whole thing is going to be one big mess.

So are you saying that they should get a hotel room and stay the night before? That is what the teams playing in the Sweet 16 do. Maybe the BOK can pay for the rooms. :irked:

No disrespect meant here, but seems the only ones complaining are the Mason Co fans....

 

The 9th has a 3 yr contract with BOKC, so naturally they are going to try and accomodate those teams first. I really don't see the big deal about when and where they play. Regardless, all teams are still going to have to show up with their "A" game or they'll be going home early.

 

And FWIW, the 10th region fans actually have it better, as they can catch all 4 of the quarters games in one day for the price of what the 9th fans are going to pay for just two games. I feel the BOKC has more than accomodated the 10th region fans.
