Nice win Corbin :thumb:

All-in-all I thought it was a pretty good called game. Anyone that is blaming the officiating for the loss is out of their mind. South got more than their fair share of calls and non-calls. Corbin made more plays down the stretch and deserved the victory. The draw today will be very interesting.

Congrats to Corbin. Great game, great night, great student sections. Corbin won because they earned it. Officiating did not determine outcome. Corbin players, coaches-class. South players, coaches-class. Would love to see the region final contain 2 50th district teams.

Very good game, not decided until the final 30 secs. I thought Corbin had a little more depth and Johnson hit some huge shots.

I thought Williamsburg did an awesome jod in hosting the tournament.

The refs clearly was not going to let South win. There was too much talet

on that floor last night to let it become a ref show. South Laurel is the real

deal IMO:notworthy::notworthy:

To even imply that there was a conspiracy to prevent one team from losing is nonsense.

The 3 gentleman who called the game made some good calls, made some bad calls, and missed some calls - but no one got cheated!!!

No reason to complain about bad calls. They go both ways. The better team won that certain night.

This was the type of game that Corbin really needed to win because tournament games usually come down to who makes the plays at the end of the game. They had only won two games all year by less than a double digit margin, with the last one being on Jan 3rd against Lexington Catholic.

Corbin hung tough when South came back at them and was able to make the plays and their foul shots in the last couple of minutes to secure the win.

I agree 4CHS, but I think the loss was a positive for South Laurel as well. To enter the game as double-digit underdogs and to only be down by two points with 50 seconds to go and be one tipped pass ball away from tying the game, I'm sure the South players feel like that they can win the region if they get to the finals.

South should feel pretty good about their chances of making the finals.

How were they a double-digit underdog when they beat Corbin the previous game. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I agree. Plus South had not lost a 50th district game in the post season since moving to the 13th. Now they are trying to continue the unbeaten streak in the regional tournament as well. It is hard to ever think of South Laurel as an underdog.

South did not get too bad of a draw in my opinion. Obviously they have a tough 1st round game with Clay Co., but they did draw opposite of Knox Central, so if Corbin and Knox Central meet in the semifinals, that game will be a war and it may be a little harder for the winner of this game to come back as strong the following night in the finals. A lot of basketball to be played before they get to that point though.

Bubba, you just don't want any added pressure, that's all.:thumb:
