New lights are up and will be ready for next weeks game. New fieldhouse will be started in Oct. New bleachers will be done in the off season.

I was at the memorial service last night and it was a truly touching experience. Coach Slater was someone I have played for, coached with and admired for the way he taught the game of football and more important the game of life. He was a mentor and friend to me and I for one will miss him greatly.

 

It was said at the service last night, "I don't know if there is football in heaven but if there is Coach Slater is coaching the perfect team".

What does anyone know about the running back coming in from Wurtland Middle School? I believe his name is Dustin Stout from what hear this kid is the real deal and will provide Greenup with a threat in the backfield right away?

Not as a freshman, maybe as a sophomore.

Pancake breakfast tomorrow morning from 8-11 at the High School. The boys will be cooking and serving. Hope to see everyone out to support the team!

The end of the first year of change in GC. Thanks to all the boys, parents/boosters and to the coaches for all of the work you guys did this year. Change is never easy and I think we in GC accepted it and got excited about it. I really feel that all of the hard work will start to pay off on and off the field next season. On a personal note, thanks to all the coaching staff for making my first year coaching HS a great experience, and thanks to Coach Copley for having faith in me, and giving me a chance to coach the game I love at a higher level.

If he doesnt start coming to weight lifting, he may get passed up by a few boys that are. He has great talent but has to work to get stronger in the off-season. Hope to see him next week.

You're right Coupon, change is never easy, but I think we really embraced it this past year and the excitement continues. I can't wait for the 2010 season to begin!! (This will be our 11th year working and supporting these boys!!)

 

Musketeers keep lifting those weights, get stronger and more disciplined! Now is the time for the Juniors to really step up. Next year is your final season. Give it your all!
