mcraycraft Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) Just wondering what it cost to attend a regional game. This year the 9th/10th is using the Bank of KY Center. I know the 11th uses EKU and the 16th uses MSU. How do the prices at these venues compare to the prices at regionals held at high school venues (ticket prices, concessions, etc)? An example I am taking my wife and two kids (ages 12 and 10) to the game, We will buy 4 soft drinks and 4 hot dogs and I will need 4 tickets to get in. My cost will be....? Grcfan4life Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I know that the 9/10th at BOK is charging 8 dollars per session.

mcraycraft Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 I am looking for comparisons. Anyone know what the 8th at Henry County will be charging or the 14th at Powell County? Tickets $5-$8, drinks $1-$1.50, etc? What kind of prices do the 11th or 16th have?
GatorFan Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 The 8th is usually 5 dollars and the price of a drink is $1.50. The concession prices do not change their regardless of what is happening at the facility. Also alot of homemade candy and cookies for .50 cents.
Jim Schue Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Since the BOKC is adopting an NFL-type method of organizing a HS tournament, I wouldn't be shocked to see NFL and MLB-type prices at the concession stands.
ladiesbballcoach Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I have heard complaints that the concession prices for 10th Region is going to be high based on other hs events held there.
The Professor Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 The 14th region is usually $5 gate and the concessions are reasonable. It's at Powell this year and I'd say it will probably stay the same. With the economy like it is the regions had better not set the prices too high imo.
HoopsCrazie Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 At BOK for the 9th/10th region - it may cost $8, but that is only at the arena. Since it is all reserved seating and we do not live anywhere near the arena, we will pay Ticketmaster fees. I paid $63 and some change for 4 tickets. How much of that will go back to the schools and into the programs? Not much I am guessing.

The concessions are not cheep at the BOKC, but are no more than going to any other major college game. They also have foods that aren't offered at high school games. Like it or not, a nice new venue has nice new prices to go with it. I personally don't mind, I can eat at home if I want to, plus if you factor in that you won't have to leave between games and pay again, it's the same price $5 a game.
