Harrison County is going to be the team to beat, I don't think they will have much competition. They have alot of solid juniors, and sophmores.

 

They will have more competition than you are giving them credit for having. I agree they are the team to beat, but it can happen.

You are missing the point. Travel teams which is what you are talking about in Northern Ky. are different than a schools summer teams. Harrison uses their summer for their players and their players only, to get experience for mostly younger guys who did not participate that much the previous varsity season. Most travel teams are in it to get exposure for individuals; Harrison does it to develop the TEAM. And does Bourbon use only Bourbon kids? They used to get kids from all over! When all is said and done Harrison will be the team, hands down.

 

Harrison Co. has for the most part had a good team for many years, Congrats to them for that. However there is much to be said for your upper level select/ traveling teams. I do not think the teams that I'm am aware of are developing individuals only. The top select teams expect all of their players to go on to play college ball, all of them, not just a select few. It is great to take a group of young players as a team and try to keep them together as a team. We did this with oldest sons group, eight players from a team we started as sixth graders played varsity baseball together, it can be a good thing, but don't say that a only a few individuals are singled out in select ball, it's not true on your better teams.

I didn't say for a few individuals being singled out!! please go back and read again; what was stated was that it is for individuals; aka individuals from alot of different teams; as opposed to what Harrison Co. does to develop a TEAM.

Everyone has a right to a choice and a preference; I guess it depends on what you are trying to accomplish; are you in it for your High School Team or the individual; that is why some teams will be so so and other teams will keep on reloading.

I disagree with this. Baseball is an individual game within a team game in itself if that makes any sense to you. By an individual improving his skills and playing ablities then he makes the TEAM even better. You don't have to play together on the same summer team to have a good high school team. By playing better competition you will improve your skills and then improve your team as you will be able to produce more.
