FWIW, I found it interesting that there are 7,600 Tylenol, Aspirin, etc. related deaths each year.

I am still looking for the link, but within the last two years, a cincinnati teen I think is still in jail due to vehicular homicide in the death of a young girl while driving under the influence of MJ.

I do not doubt that long term, excessive use of marijuana COULD possibly cause lung cancer.

 

However, I have not read or seen any news of anyone dying from lung cancer from smoking marijuana. If you can provide me evidence that it has happened, I'd love to see it.

 

People who use marijuana generally do not use it like cigarettes are used. And cigarettes have many additives in them that make them far worse than tobacco alone would be. Those reasons are probably why the data I provided can not find evidence of any marijuana related deaths.

 

As for alcohol, I'd assume many of the deaths are from liver problems, drunk driving, etc.

 

Tobacco related deaths could come from many different forms of cancer. Don't forget that there are many different ways to use tobacco (smoking, dipping, chewing).

And before you even go there...

 

I know that there are many more deaths from people DWI of alcohol. I know... Alcohol can severly impair your ability to operate a car.

 

However, being high from MJ does impair your sense and I am sure has caused more than its fair share of DWI fatalities.

So alcohol is responsible for over 11 times more fatal crashes than marijuana, according to that study.

 

I wonder how many fatal crashes are caused from prescription drug abuse.

I understand the counter-argument to marijuana legalization; however, I whole-heartedly disagree with it. The biggest factor in the anti-legalization argument is the fear of what may be. And that fear is driven by many myths & misunderstandings.

Marijuana has been known to actually highten your senses. I understand what you mean by the question but it would be a great dishonesty to marijuana to say it impairs senses being it greatly increases the sense of touch, smell, and most certaintly sound and taste. Eye sight is harder to determine being everyones eye sight is so different from one another but it has been known that people tend to concentrate more when they are on marijuana, and that is a big problem associated with alcohol related crashes in that there is little to no concentration.

Smoking pot is relatively harmless and these facts have almost all been researched to be true. If you need anymore of my arguement you can refer back to page three of this thread and that will be all you need. Again facts far outweigh perception, and the perception for a lot of people as far as weed is concerned is anything but fact.

Look, I am not saying the legal drugs that are out there are not harmful. They are, some of them very harmful. I just completely disagree with you if you think marijuana is harmless, because it is not and the facts show it is not.
