50th District Seeding

It's nice though that you are keeping up with Whitley, though, Bubba.

I try to watch the Colonels every chance I get. I have a few relatives down that way in the community of Saxton.

Is he related to Stan?

I think his first name was Derek? Not sure he even came out after football season was over, to be honest.

Stan could be some relation, not sure.

Is he related to Stan?

Surely he would be playing for the "BIG ORANGE" if he were.

LOL. That's true.

South Laurel will win this district. :thumb:

That is a bold statement. I think that Corbin is the favorite, they are the most talanted, although South has the best Coach, he can't make any buckets for the team. Corbin is deeper on the bench, and has a better starting five.

Just my opinion. :thumb:

I believe South's biggest fear at the moment isnt the Redhounds. I believe all they are seeing as of now are the Colonels.

You are right, that is one reason I say that Steve Wright is the best coach in the district. South will be well prepared for Whitley but I am sure that Chris Baker will have some tricks up is sleeve for the Cards, but will it be enough? Only time will tell, but the bottom line is South is pretty good.

South is a very good team. Well coached and schooled in their style of play. One can only wonder how this game will unfold......will the Colonels try to turn the tempo up and use their depth and athletes to gain the victory or will the Cards pick to grind it out and attempt to beat the Colonels at their style of game. The Colonels can throw 16 fouls at St. John. If the Colonels can somehow get into the South bench it would be to their advantage. That seems to be much easier said than done. I can not see St. John being in any type of foul trouble either. So there is the battle within itself. Tempo will be huge in this game. Should be an entertaining game either way with tons of emotion. If Whitley can score in the 60's an upset could be brewing. If the game is in the 40's look for the Cards to come out on top. The big game experience has to be on the South Laurel side as well.

Here’s a few interesting statistics when it comes to Corbin during its first 13 games versus the second 13 games:

1st 13 games (averages) — Points Forward: 68 Points Allowed: 53 (MAR: 15)

2nd 13 games (averages)—Points Forward: 82 Points Allowed: 52 (MAR: 30)

It appears the defense has been pretty strong and consistent for the Redhounds all year long. The one area of improvement is Corbin’s ability to put points on the board (Corbin has become a great passing team). The Hounds are averaging 14 more points per game during the second half of the season.

In Corbin’s three loses, the Hounds only managed: 64, 53, and 58 points (average: 58 points per game; about 17 points below their season average and 24 points below their average when they win.

So, just playing the numbers game … when Corbin puts 65 points on the board, so far they have not been beat (a perfect 19-0); however, when scoring below 65, the Hounds have four wins and three loses.

I can't wait to see how this tournament unfolds. Im almost positive it will be worth the time to watch!

1. Corbin

2. south

3. Whitley

4. Williamsburg

So, is the seeding alphabetical?:D

And it is a repetitive tourny, we had the same one last year

Yes, it's an exact repeat of last year's tournament; however, hopefully, the end result will be different than last year's.

I think the Colonels could give the Cardinals a heck of a game on Tuesday -- will definitely be interesting to watch.
