50th District Seeding

And it is a repetitive tourny, we had the same one last year

I would bet the top two will be there year in and year out, the last two will flip flop every couple of years or so.

Wburg is about 15 points removed from being the number 2 seed this year. I think they lost to Whitley by 5 and 6 points and had a 2 point game with South at home. Funny things can happen in the post season. I am sure there will be a Sea of Orange on Monday night.

Even if Williamsburg would have won the three games you just mentioned, the best seed they could have got would have been the No. 3 seed with a 3-3 record and South Laurel would have been the No. 2 with a 4-2 mark.

But of course that's only IF we play the COULD or WOULD HAVE BEEN game.

What is the schedule for the 50th, I quess W'burg plays if there will be a sea of oragne on Monday. Who plays the girls games?

Here’s a few interesting statistics when it comes to Corbin during its first 13 games versus the second 13 games:

1st 13 games (averages) — Points Forward: 68 Points Allowed: 53 (MAR: 15)

2nd 13 games (averages)—Points Forward: 82 Points Allowed: 52 (MAR: 30)

It appears the defense has been pretty strong and consistent for the Redhounds all year long. The one area of improvement is Corbin’s ability to put points on the board (Corbin has become a great passing team). The Hounds are averaging 14 more points per game during the second half of the season.

In Corbin’s three loses, the Hounds only managed: 64, 53, and 58 points (average: 58 points per game; about 17 points below their season average and 24 points below their average when they win.

So, just playing the numbers game … when Corbin puts 65 points on the board, so far they have not been beat (a perfect 19-0); however, when scoring below 65, the Hounds have four wins and three loses.

Just taking a look at some more numbers Andrew.........Corbins first 13 opponents were a combined 179-143 while their last 13 are 155-169.........could be something there. Some more numbers that are interesting......Corbins opponents are 334-312 overall but the three teams that defeated the Hounds are 51-23, so if you take those three teams out then Corbins opponents are 283-289 and that is with South Laurel in that group twice since Corbin defeated them those two games. So sometimes maybe records and points can be a little deceiving.

Now after this small research I still think Corbin is the best team in the 13th and as I have told a couple of the Redhound faithful I work with.........Corbin is 12-15 points better than South Laurel but on the other hand if(and that is a big if) those two do get to meet, South Laurel is 12-15 points better from a coaching standpoint.

So I guess if they meet they will tie! I agree numbers can sometime be deceiving, Corbin has played an ok schedule this year, IMO not a great one, that being said I still feel they have the potential to reach Sat. morning at Rupp, but watching that night.

Cards destroy Rockcastle tonight who Whitley struggled to beat earlier in the week. Things are not looking good for the upset than many are wishing for on Tuesday.

Hounds seem to still have the hunger in their bellies and took care of Harlan tonight.

WBurg got a big win on the road at Red Bird Mission.

How will things shake out in this whacky 50th district race.

Call the Fire Marshall to insure the capacity is not the limit.

Wear a short sleeve shirt as well, the heat will be on full blast in the Yellow Jacket Nest.

It's getting closer Bubba, do or die time coming soon. Don't you just love post-season time. Teams play tighter and the rims are a hole lot smaller. Should be a great 50th District Tournament.

Yes, this is the time the True Warriors survive and the others fall or run for cover. Grab your weapon and jump in the Foxhole....incoming....lol

Hope the lessons of the regular season allow each team to use the experience to perform at their best. A wise man once told me...Experience tells you what to do, but Confidence allows you to do it. This old bird is still on the sidelines today.

Sounds like something Willard Farris would say.....one of the most underrated over looked coaches in Kentucky.
