We are headed to Lexington for an army conference and we are planning on going out that Saturday night. We will be there Feb 20,21,22. We are staying at the Embassy Suites. Any suggestions on things to do in the evening? We will probably do dinner and then to a bar or something like that. Thanks.

We can do downtown, is that by Rupp? We just don't know our way around town lol. We like live bands, we like casual places. And dinner...anything will work but seafood.

If you like live bands I recommend The Dame. Sal's and Malone's aren't far from there...both are excellent places to eat.

Malone's is great but it is over at Tates Creek or on Broadway. If you want to stay close to downtown/Rupp, consider DeSha's. And make sure that you hit Ramsey's for breakfast one day.

 

Embassy Suites is like 4 miles from downtown but not really near anything (except the interstate). Just call me for directions, I live like 30 seconds from downtown. :lol:

Richmond Road is probably like a 15 minute ride from Embassy Suites (without traffic, which there will be) :lol:

~$60, at least, I'd say.

Embassy is a nice hotel, but it isn't near anything. It's on the extreme north end near the interstate. You'll have to get out and about to go anywhere. Lexington is a pretty easy town to navigate.

 

Your hotel is right on Newtown Pike. You can take it straight downtown. Make a left on Main and you're at Rupp arena. There are plenty of places in that area to go.

 

If you want to go to O'neil's. You would turn left on Main. It splits and becomes Vine infront of Rupp. Drive through town (less than a mile). Vine hooks back up to Main, right on Main. Main's name changes to Richmond Rd. About 1 1/2 miles O'Neil's is on your left at the end of a little plaza.

 

When you go back just go straight down Main/Richmond to right on Newtown. It's 6.47 miles per mapquest.

I dont know if you would enjoy a piano bar, but the Penguin downtown is a really neat place. It is located just behind Rupp Areana. Good times.

Try DeSha's for dinner and the you can try The Penguin .
