BTW, see post #9...I believe I was pretty dead on with keys to the game and the match ups. :sssh:

I'm not saying you are wrong. I really want to know if there is anyone out there, that you think can match up with Holmes? You have a lot of knowledge about a lot of kids that I don't. Share:thumb:

It would be nice to see a thread without Eta's prediction. Seems he hasnt seen boone play much this year.

Boone matches up great with Holmes and at the gaurd spot while Jamel may have a better outside shot, he can't shoot with a man in his face and gabbard can.

Gabbard and Popp both get to the basket better than jamel and can pull up of the dribble better.

The key factor in this game is Elijah Pittman, if he gets his 20 Holmes wins but if he runs his mouth like he did against Dixie Boone wins by 5

Ill take Boone by 3 or 5

Sure there are plenty of TEAMS who match up well with Holmes, but INDIVIDUALLY, not many players match up well with a few of the Holmes players one on one when comparing strengths and weaknesses. :thumb:

Nope:

07/08 @ Holmes

Holmes 57 Boone 37

06/07 @ Boone

Holmes 55 Boone 47

05/06 @ Holmes

Boone 75 Holmes 74 Double OT

04/05

@ Grant Co

Holmes 68 Boone 50

@ Boone

Holmes 79 Boone 73

Boone did beat Holmes in 03/04 though before the Jefferson, Hill, Rice, Edmondson era and also the last time Holmes didn't make the region tourney.

Was that the year HC beat them in the Districts out at CCH?? I know they beat them around that time, I'm not sure though.

I admittedly haven't seen Boone at all this year. But I've seen enough of their key players from last year and this year over the summer on the AAU circuit to know their strengths and weaknesses.

As far as your assessment on Riley, I have to question in return how many times you've seen Holmes this year? Riley is shooting 43% from 3 pt land and 49% from the field. You can't tell me that it's because he's wide open all the time when he's attempted 167 shots this year..Riley is actually best off the dribble when it comes to his mid range game.... And as far as Gabbard and Popp being able to get to the rim better, we'll have to wait and see, but honestly I think you're going to be in for a surprise tomorrow. Riley gets to the rim at will because he handles the ball so well. Gabbard struggled mightily last year against Holmes.

Sure was. I believe their starting center Alexie Brown broke his foot either in that game or the game before and with him not playing HC was able to capitalize and pull off the upset at CCH.

That's right now I remember. That's actually the last time HC made the regional.

Yup...HC lost to Covcath in the finals by around 18 I believe and then lost to Dixie 33-32 in the first round of region. Both teams played stall ball the whole game.

Sounds right to me!:thumb:

Holmes willl win by 20.

This will a statement game for all 9th region teams BEWARE!!! :)

Holmes leds the poll 53% to 47, I'm suprized that Boone County is getting that many votes. I dont know if it is wishful thinking, pulling for the underdog? But I voted for Boone Co also. I was impressed with them beating my team (Adair Co) by 20 pts the last two years, plus I think Cov-Holmes is due a loss and Boone Co is the best team they have played since earlier in the season.

A lot of it has to do with the 10-15 EC fans who vote against Holmes in every poll. Polls don't really matter though.

Holmes will win and IMO people will quit saying "they're due for a loss" after this game.

I'm a Holmes alum/fan and would really like to see them get the taste of a loss before the tourneys start. I'm not saying they are not focused but it has been so long since they have lost. I think it would be a way for them to refocus on the big prize.

See I don't look at it that way. IMO that's why they haven't lost in such a long time is because they're so focused.

I don't think a loss would be good for this group...they are a confident group and a loss might deflate that confidence a little and make them start trying to do too much.

I've noticed alot this year, when Pittman gets in foul trouble, or is having an off night, R. Johnson ends up having the big game, because at the end of the game he takes it over. And if Pittman has an off game, (I don't think he will), look for Ricardo to get it done!
