Not a pleasant night for the Tigers as they have to play a third time against the Thoroughbreds in 3 weeks in the district tourney. You have to hate drawing an NCC team in the All A and in the district. Then tossing in a regular season game in the middle. Kudos to Bellevue for playing NCC. You do not see any of the other DivIII schools playing them (unless Beechwood does and I am not sure).

I'm pretty sure that Villa plays NCC too.

Lost 46-74 this year.

Lost 54-87 last year.

Do you think small schools like Villa and Bellevue should be scheduling NCC (and other bigger schools) year in and year out?

Does it help the small school? The big school?

This topic could be made into its own thread but what do you think?

is there actually a size difference in the schools? I agree this is probably another thread topic.

For the small school it's a pretty nice gate an a chance to measure yourself against a bigger school. For the bigger school, it's typically a break from the conference schedule, a game to fill an open date, or just a nearby team to fill a spot and save on travel.

The DIII school's in NKY have a harder time scheduling than you might think. After your 14 conference games, a holiday tournament, and the All "A", you still have 6-8 games to fill. Hardly any of the DI schools will play you and most of the DII schools will not. So, you're left scheduling small schools from Cincinnati, the 10th region, or the 8th region which will bring very little to your gate. So, if you get a team a mile down the road to play you, both sides will likely agree (especially consider the schedules were made when gas was $4/gallon and you have another reason to do it).

Was Bellevue without Young, i didnt see him in the boxscore? Not that he would make up 30 pts, just curious.

He did not play, but I have no idea why.

JBC good points. This is a good gate for a small schools. An NCC will usually bring a good crowd which is much better for a Bellevue than an 8t hregion school that nobody shows up for....
