I would have to disagree on the techinical foul for #32 Raliegh for Dixie. He is actually only 5'11 at the most. Pittman started trash talking within the first thirty seconds of the game. He continued to push taunt and provoke the entire game. I am not against a little jawing but this young athlete takes it above and beyond anything I have seen before. I was dissapointed to see him continuing to talk and give jabs the entire game without the ref saying anything. This young man is a dissapointment. A young man full of talent but alot of disrespect. I watched after the game, he refused to give #32 a fair shake and then threw some foul language his way. This is not really the kind of athletes we should want representing our schools. Also after the game was over, he continued his taunting and trying to get things stirred with the Dixie players getting on their bus to come home. If I was Henley I would get this boy straight and fast, before he does some damage to a future career.

Anyone know the box score, or how many points Rico and Riley had? Sounds like they both had good games.

Rico and Riley both probably had 15+. Not really sure about anyone else though.

Riley and Rico were the leading scorers for Holmes with Pittman and JJ both probably having right around 10 points each...give or take a few. Housely also had a pretty decent night.

BTW... Arnold didn't play at all tonight. Slusher got the majority of the minutes.

How come? Do you not know?

I'd say it had to do with him getting a technical against Scott in overtime. Henley didn't let him play the next game after he got a technical against Henderson Co either.

Actually I'd say it was Pittman who got in Pike and #32's head which is why they both ended up with 4 fouls from continually throwing elbows and tripping Pittman. Pittman didn't really start "talking" until the 4th quarter when the game was well in hand. Pittman was definetly in #32's head which is why he got in Pittman's face during the technical shots and pushed him...honestly anyone who saw that knows the kid should have been ejected from the game and t'd up. It wasn't just a forearm push...the kid took both hands, put them in Pittman's chest and shoved him full extension, only to have the ref just stand there and watch as the PLAYERS took control of the situation.

Pittman knows his limits. Whether people like it or not, he's going to continue to talk. Let's not point the finger at just one player though. It's not like the other players don't talk back and do the same things. Pittman is an emotional player and that's what fuels his game.

If Pittman's trash talking is the fuel to his game how will he ever make it in Division 1 b-ball? Who in division 1 basketball is going to let him act that way? Does he really think that trash talking will intimidate anyone in the SEC, big east any conference? I don't hardly think so. I think he should be concentrating on his game and not running his mouth.

I am not disagreeing that other players do their jabbing and jawing, but this kid is over the top. I am not sure what game you were watching, but I was sitting in the front row and you could hear all the trash talk he was putting down from the beginning of the game. I am a bulldog fan, but I was embarrassed tonight. I don't believe he got in #32 head either. I think it was the other way around, and that just fueled Pittman not to be a key factor in this game. I think he could take some pointers from Ricardo, who seems to be a well established player with a good attitude. Of course this is just all a matter of opinion, as we all have one.

So does that mean Pittman won't be played vs Highlands do you think? I mean I would think if that were Henley's policy he would have it across the board.

Honestly half the time Pittman is just talking to the other players because he likes talking during the games. He tells EVERYONE he goes up against before a game that they aren't going to score on him and that causes other players to take their shots at him during games and talk trash as well.

I don't think it's right to single out one player. It's simple...other players keep their mouths shut and Pittman will keep his mouth shut. Again, it's a two way street. There's only been a few games this year where it's been like this and I think you'll notice that other players for the opposing team were mentioned as well in all of those games. Tonight was the first game this year that Pittman has received a T so why is everyone making a big deal about it?

He is leading a very talented Holmes team in ppg, rpg, and bpg.....I'd say he's doing just fine, whether people like his talking or not.

Tonight was the first time Pittman has received a technical all year. It's very unlikely that he'll have to sit. He didn't make Arnold sit after his first t either. It was after the second and third ones that he had to sit.

Henley has a pretty strict policy when it comes to discipline. I think we should all know that.

Was not aware Arnold had three, thought he only had two. Sounds like he needs to get in check as well.

He is a talented young man, unfortunately I don't think my posts are conveying what I am trying to say. The young athlete is full of talent, I would just hate to see him throw any of that away for trash talking.

As I said on my first reply, I was sitting on the Dixie side with some freinds. #32 and Pittman were talking smack from the beginning of the game. Pittman was posting up underneath and 32 and Pittman got tangled up,Pittman fell,32 with a hand full of shirt stole the ball. Then the jawjacking began between them two. The reason I said I was on the Dixie side is because soon as Pike got in he was definately running his jibs. I saw it twice. One time he said,In your face. Saw and heard it. Other than that I think Pike is going to be good. So don't say Pittman runs his jibs when he's talked to everyone, from day1.

I am an avid Holmes fan and I agree that Pittman went over the line tonight. The Dixie kids can not be absolved from this either. I believe the referees can share in this as well as the trouble was brewing for two quarters and nothing was said to any of the players. Thankfully henley pulled Eli before it got any worse. I have no problem with trash talking as long is it doesn't cross the line. MJ and Kobe were and are the masters of trash talking. Having the game to back it up helps. Pittman has the game to back it up but he needs to learn when and when not to practice this fine art.

The lopsided scores of these games is hurting Holmes and this will allow another Scott game to sneak up on them and maybe the next time will come tournament time and there will be no tomorrow.

Whether the policy is or is not to sit a game after a technical I think Henley should sit Pittman to send Eli and the rest of the team the right message. This team has the potential to do great things and doesn't need the side show. I see Kevon looking up at Pittman and this is sending him the wrong message. All any of them have to do is look at Rico, JJ and Riley for the way to handle themselves. Rico went right after Zeke Pike after Eli was pulled with strong relentless defense and the talking stopped.

Attacking Eli's character is ridiculous because he is a 16 year old KID that just needs to grow up a little. I am hoping a few weeks with Billy G will hasten this in a couple years.

As for the game Dixie is scrappy but had nothing for Holmes. This is another game Holmes could have won by 40 but chose to live another day with three quality games in five days beginning Friday night.
