So they got under his skin which he has done to so many others this season. Henley did the right thing getting him out of there though, you don't want to lose a stud because of some non-sense when you have the game well in hand. Eli has to learn that if he can dish it he has to take it though. The Bulldogs can't afford to lose him over things like that, had this have been the Paintsville game from last year down state @ Rupp and he had reacted like that it could have been a full scale riot, that was the most physical high school game I have ever seen.

 

I can remember seeing the faces of the Paintsville players when they figured out they were going to lose. Pittman knocked down a player and ran his mouth and I swore there was about to be a brawl. Geez. Very physical game. But entertaining to say the least.

He has ran his mouth all season, and if he is just now getting a tech for that, that is crazy. Nothing wrong with a little jawing. But if it is aimed at the officials that is another story. If it was a hard foul, then thats basketball.

Pittman has all the talent in the but is gonna blow it if he doesnt get his head striaght. He has to realize being the stud he is that teams are gonna target him and gonna try to get in his head and its gonna end up costing holmes in a game that will actually mean something.

 

 

Pike played hard and Pittman didnt score a point on him neither did Ricardo. Pittman talked and Pike didnt back down scored a few times over top of him. Pikes a stud and will continue to develope into a great player.

 

Raleigh started out gaurding pittman and from the start of the game had him rattled, several times Pittman took full swings at him and others on the court.

 

Ricardo and Jamel played extremly well and did what they wanted.

 

It was the most physical game i've seen this year, but its nice to see the young Dixie team show some emotion and not back down from Bulldogs

True they do, but trash talking and getting out of hand are two different things. When I played we got the same card read to us prior to the games and as long as no lines were crossed we could talk. I dont see anything wrong with it and neither has any official in the first 20 games this season.

Oh yea, that game was crazy. At one point in time in that game I was honestly worried for some of the guys safety. I knew one of those teams had to play again the next night and I didn't think either would be healthy enough to do it. hahaha

I think you are going to see emotion the rest of the season against this Holmes team regardless who they play. After the Scott game everyone know's that they can beat them on the right night and I don't think anyone will back down from them. However there aren't to many of those nights.

Sounds like a character flaw to me...

 

Sportsmanship is a matter of being good (character) and doing right (action) in sports. The majority of acts that we consider bad in sports and call 'unsportsmanlike' are bad precisely because they are unfair, dishonest, disrespectful, or against the rules.

If I am a coach scouting Holmes, I tell my guys to give it right back to Pittman. It seems like he can dish it out but has trouble when it comes back at him. I think you can get in his head.

 

This could be true, but it could also work against a coach. I seen twice this year, where a player started talking back to Pittman. Both times Pittman looked at the crowd and said he won't score another point. Guess what happened ? His man didn't score another point. Me personally, I would much rather not see trash talking in any B-Ball game. But IMO for Pittman it fuels his game. I'm not saying it's right but for him it works.

Toward the end Rico just backed Pike down 3 or 4 times and then just turned around and layed it in because Pike was either stumbling back from Rico being physical or he was so far under the rim, all Rico had to do was jump and lay it in. Also Rico's dunk was with Pike contesting it.

 

I agree Pike will be a stud but definetly needs to improve his defense and rebounding. At 6'5 he should be able to pull down atleast one rebound a game. I don't think he had any tonight. He finished with 6 points though, all fade away, turn around jumpers over Pittman.

Heard Trammel had an off night but handled the ball well. He was 0 for 12 from the floor? If he plays like he normally does is this a closer game or is Holmes that dominate? :idunno:

I've yet to see him or hear about him doing it in a game that was close. It seems like when his head gets out of it (ie easy wins) is when he gets a little out of control.

Actually I'd say it was Pittman who got in Pike and #32's head which is why they both ended up with 4 fouls from continually throwing elbows and tripping Pittman. Pittman didn't really start "talking" until the 4th quarter when the game was well in hand. Pittman was definetly in #32's head which is why he got in Pittman's face during the technical shots and pushed him...honestly anyone who saw that knows the kid should have been ejected from the game and t'd up. It wasn't just a forearm push...the kid took both hands, put them in Pittman's chest and shoved him full extension, only to have the ref just stand there and watch as the PLAYERS took control of the situation.

 

Pittman knows his limits. Whether people like it or not, he's going to continue to talk. Let's not point the finger at just one player though. It's not like the other players don't talk back and do the same things. Pittman is an emotional player and that's what fuels his game.

Holmes was just that dominant tonight. Controlled the boards and both Rico and Riley pretty much did whatever they wanted when they had the ball.

Pike was also guarding Rico when he hit those long three's. He scored on him more than you think.

Same thing happened tonight. Someone scored over Pittman and then told Pittman he couldn't guard him...bad mistake...very next time down the floor for Holmes Pittman had an alley oop dunk over the same player and then later in the game grabbed the kid's shot out of mid air with one hand.
