It might be instructive for all the voters - not just Mr. Ernst, who at least will go on the record - to make their ballots public.

I don't think it's far fetched to believe that someone still thought Warren Central was #10 (no matter how misguided that might be), which is why they got a single point, and I assume Bowling Green got a vote by virtue of their victory over Warren Central. Their only loss in over a month was to Warren Central.

Agree on all counts. And if a voter sees a lot of the teams in his area, and never sees most of the others, I don't begrudge him the chance to give a 9th and a 10th place vote to the teams with which he is familiar, all other things being equal.

Just explaining why in the AP, it really isn't a valid argument to say that all of the teams that get a point or two are "better" than someone like a Scott or a Clark County (shameless 10th Region plug here).

If it were me (but they don't ask):

1. Holmes

2. Scott County

3. Eastern

4. Ballard

5. Jeffersontown

6. Franklin County

7. Bryan Station

8. Shelby Valley

9. Elliott County

10. Mason County

I pay zero attention to the "1-point getters". Not that they're not good teams, but someone may have an agenda to get a team some face time. You have to remember that the AP only allows for folks to vote for 10 teams. We saw on another thread that Ryan Ernst voted Boone County 10th on his ballot. Hence, their single point, as obviously no one else had them on their list.

Which can explain why teams like Boone County, Hazard, Bowling Green, etc. appear on the list. Maybe all 16 voters would have had Clark County, for example, 11th on their list. But 11th and $1.89 gets you a gallon of gas here in Maysville. If you ask me, Clark County has actually solidified their spot in the Top 20 by winning 9 of their last 10, the last being a 10-point win over Scott.

I agree with this top 10 to a tee. Corbin, LexCath, Boone, and Christian Co. are some other really good teams on the outside looking in to IMO.

I'd probably go with this:

1. Holmes

2. Scott Co

3. Eastern

4. J'town

5. Ballard

6. Franklin Co

7. Bryan Station

8. Shelby Valley

9. Mason Co

10. Elliott Co

I'm sure there are a lot of people on here that think Shelby Valley should be ranked #1 in the state. I think we all know who I'm talking about...

I'm sure there are alot of 16th region fans that also get tired of the unwarranted attacks against their teams and fans. I haven't seen one post of anyone stating that Shelby Valley should be the #1 team in the state. So, no, we don't really know who you're talking about.

Sounds like someone is trying to stir the pot for no reason! Then go blame on the EC faithful.

I think GRC got shafted on this one. They only beat Hazard by the score of 61-36 . What a joke.

I agree, my two "overrated teams" are Corbin & S. Laurel. I have seen both S. Laurel & GRC & to me GRC is definitley the better team much less SL being ranked #11

I agree. The only "signature win" that Corbin has is over Lexcath and South Laurel hasn't beat anybody worth mentioning other than Corbin. Both teams lost to Scott, who is no where to be found in the top 25.

Must be the two AP voters that penciled them in at numero uno.:D

That's a joke if you ask me.

I believe he is referring to Franklin County's low ranking in the poll. If you look at some of his older posts he seems to be talking a good deal about FC and I'm sure in his mind, after the Scott Count game I'm sure, they should be ranked in the top 10 if not before that.

Personally I might have to agree with that too. I think Franklin is a little underrated based on this poll and especially on how they just played Scott County the other night.

Other than that the poll doesn't look too bad to me.

Franklin Co is definetly underrated IMO. See post #5.

Agreed, and yes I did see that. I believe thats why ksualum said this poll was a joke as he seems to be a Franklin County fan and (in general) a 11th Region fan based on his past posts.
