February 4, 200917 yr This was the part I felt was most important in the news.cincinnati article: "Under her watch, the university’s graduation rate is up 7 percent, research funding has never been higher, the school’s number of National Merit Scholars has increased from 53 to 146 and enrollment is up almost 10 percent. The campus has never looked better, or been more attractive to bright kids" I say it's a big loss.
February 4, 200917 yr While I was a HUGE Huggins fan, I can't fault her for trying to clean up the image of the school. I DO fault her for destroying our program by killing any recruiting Kennedy or a successor could have done by not hiring someone quickly. I am and always will be a Huggs fan. I have been to see him at WVU, etc. The issue I have with the whole situation is she ended up hiring the man that recruited most of those so called 'thugs' during Huggs tenure. None of these guys are squeaky, AK is now in some trouble...I just think Cronin was the wrong guy for the job at this point in time.

I hope he is very successful...I guess I was just part of the crowd that hoped for a big name. With NZ however, that wasnt going to happen.

February 4, 200917 yr Most only see what has transpired on the athletic stage. Zimpher also made many changes within the academic field, turning over quite a few department heads. Did this result in an improvement in academics?
