Dixie Heights @ Holy Cross (Covington) 1/30

Recommended Posts

Dixie has been playing well lately but this is going to be a style of basketball they have not played against yet. You have to play defense for a very long time on HC possessions and be extremely disciplined.

I think it is a toss up but will take HC by 3 because of the home court and experience.

Good point. I haven't been out to see Dixie this year, but all the teams they have beat seem to have the mindset of run and gun. This will be a test to see how good Dixie's half court offense is.

I'm watching the Dixie vs. Highlands Kenton County Classic replay on TBNK sports right now. Very impressed by Dixie freshman Zeke Pike. He is scoring and rebounding against the Bluebirds. It will be interested to see how Zeke handles the pressure of the Holy Cross home crowd.

Don't know and, with due respect, don't really care. My point is Pike played strong in the Kenton County Classic championship game against some pretty stiff competition. Kowolonek, Watson, Dill, Grubbs, etc. are fine players. Going into Latonia to play a strong Holy Cross squad will be tough for a player who does not have alot of varsity experience. It will be interesting to see how Pike performs under pressure.

I think because Dixie was off today, and limited parking in Latonia because the streets are still not plowed off.

That makes sense. I have a cousin who lives right around HC over on Park Place and I know their streets haven't been plowed AT ALL other than Church St.

Yeah it seems that Latonia never gets plowed off!:idunno:

I've been over in the area quite a few times the past few days and the only streets I've seen plowed around HC was Church (street HC is on) and the main drag...I think Winston Ave is the name of it?

I should have checked here first, but just stopped by HC for the Freshman game to learn that it was cancelled... due to the fact that Kenton County buses are not available today. A few years ago Kenton County created a policy that all sports teams must travel to away games on a school bus. No bus, no way to get to the away game.
