Who will be the QB next year? That has become the key position for NCC's offense since they opened it up.

From the outside looking in it comes down to Jake Cain and the Freshman from this year. That is a very uneducated guess, so if anyone knows better, please add on.

Eviston? (sp?). He did pretty well from what I heard. Never made it to a game but watched a couple on tv and he held his own. Any thoughts on him?

Paul Eviston. He has the experience to be the start of a pretty good line, but it all depends on who they surround him with. NewCath will be a question mark well into the season in '09 because of the class turnover, but the guys they have coming back will be a good place to start. I think the East region is pretty much up for grabs in 2A though.

This year sophmore class had some nice players, lead by Chris Kelly. Like a previous poster said, Jake Cain will be battling for the QB spot (also linebacker). Kyle Tallon is one of the hardest hitters on the team (he was a wedge buster this year on kick off team). Little known, Mike Froendhoff rushed for 178 yrds on 12 carries this year. Brennan Daunt saw action at tight end and linebacker(intercepted a pass for a TD). Brian Doyle may be the starting safety and WR next year. Jake Geisler has a great shot at offensive line and Jack Gruenschlaeger (6'9" 280) also O line.

The senior class is small on numbers, but they have decent size, and a lot of experience on the lines. The skill players will come from the Jr. class as state above. They'll be ok by the end of the year, sort of like the '06 team, and hopefully with the same result. As far as I'm concerned, the issue with a school the size of NewCath is having a strong experienced line. NewCath always has skill players, athletic size comes in cycles. This year they will have a good line.
