I lived in Alaska for almost a year and I saw many a moose wandering around the neighborhood.

Now that the video has been posted, I'll be more than curious to hear your thoughts on the point I made. Isn't she really saying "I'm not smart enough to send me out there a 2nd time?"

 

Shooter - "preconceived notions?" Come on. You know better than that. Considering most of us had never heard of her prior to the campaign, our only notions are a direct result of the words that came out of her mouth. Don't try to make this into a "everyone is picking on Sarah" party.

 

By preconceived notions, I was referring to judging this latest interview without actually seeing it and not to judgments made during the campaign season.

 

As far as everyone picking on Sarah, during the campaign it absolutely was everybody (on the left) picking on Sarah. I thought that this interview has a number of very good points (as evidenced by rockmom's agreement with some of them). I thought her point on how the elite media was dutifully circumspect in reporting about Obama's family but they had a virtual feeding frenzy of often times false and occasionally malicious stories concerning her family was a reasonable complaint. Given the deeply personal nature of those issues, I dare say that nearly anyone who had a similar experience would feel both hurt and unfairly persecuted.

 

Also, I believe that if she harbors political aspirations beyond Alaska, she should be conducting numerous interviews with national media types. Additional interviews would serve the dual purpose of providing her the opportunity to hone her interview skills while also putting a large body of work behind her. With hundreds of "good" interviews on the record and the passage of time, the detrimental significance of the Couric interview will be mitigated.

Also IMHO, in the grand ordering of states, being an Alaskan ranks much higher than being a Minnesotan. Whatever Sarah Palin’s flaws may be, she's several notches higher than both Jessie Ventura and Al Franken.

I don't attack politicians for being "idiots" or "dim-witted" ... I do, from time to time, question their policy decisions.
