I was at the game, with 2.2 seconds left GC called time out...clock stopped with .8...an Official can put the time back on the clock if he/she is possitive of the difference...this case was rule book correct...I would expect nothing less from Mark Howell...1 of the best officials in the 8th Region...sorry HC, the score keeper had nothing to do with YOUR loss!

Give credit where its due Jones hit a tuff shot. No one was cheated he shouldnt of been left open as everyone knew who GC was going two. Congrats two both teams. HC is greatly improved

What was the deal with the time clock issue in this game? The Henry Co. fans say there was 0.8 seconds on the clock when a timeout was called. When play was resumed 2.2 seconds was put on the clock. I know after the game Coach Holland accused the score keeper of cheating them out of this game.

 

That doesn't suprise me that Holland did that. He should be ashamed. Scorers are volunteers, unlike coaches and officials. If he had ANY issue with the time, that should be addressed with the official DURING the game, not with the scorer after the game.

Some refuse to see with their own eyes and hear with their own ears. I'm sure that the scorer obviously has to do what the official says.

 

A lot of people do not understand about reaction time. A portion of a second will run off before the official blows his whistle and a portion of a second will run off before the scorer can react and turn the clock off. If the official sees the clock at the moment the coach calls time out (sight being a sense not requiring a reaction), then he most certainly should add time back on the clock.

Gallatin inbounded under their own basket with 1.8 seconds left. Jones caught the pass, dribbled once, shot, and made it. Video evidence supports the time keeper started the clock at the official's signal.

Because of Coach Holland's and Coach Schepman's berating of the timekeeper the Henry Co. fans were out of control to say the least. They called him a cheater on numerous occasions. All the blame for this behavior should be placed on the Henry coaching staff.

I agree. I don't believe he reacted to the verbal abuse one time when he had every right to. Bully for him!

I am happy the scorekeeper kept his composure, but come on, I have seen fans from everywhere act extremely rude, especially when it is a tight game against a district rival. I am not saying anyone is right and it shouldn't be done, but there isn't any reason to bash HC for it.

The clock keeper stated that the clock started when he saw it was deflected no way that happened have seen it on film, tough shot by Jones take nothing away from that, it was the deflection under the basket and the clock not starting from there, not the 2.2 and when Maddux was in HC had the lead, I thought that HC dropped down when he was out and thought they had the game won. It took 3.9 second for the whole play to occur after it was touched by Taylor under the basket, if you want the film I can send it you!
