Holy Cross 38 Ryle 36

I think this just goes to show that after Holmes and possibly Boone, Nky is wide open as it's ever been. Anyone can beat anyone on any given night.

Shows you what I know.

So I can see where maybe HC slowed it down against the 1-3-1 but what did Ryle try do offensively that generated 6 first half points?

Missed shots. They tried to work it in and HC would double team, then they'd kick out and they tried to drive and HC cut them off with help D, and then they'd finally usually shoot a three or the bigs would put up a contested shot out of their comfort zone. Also, there were some possessions where it just resulted in Giwa or Trimpe getting a steal in the halfcourt.

Hats off to Coach Goetz. He doesn't get enough credit.

I agree HC did take a minute or two off the clock with some of their possessions though in the first half.

How did the JV game go?

How did the JV game go?

HA 10-8 at half. I think Ryle won by 3 or 4

Almost the same game, but different outcome. 10-8 at halftime HC led. I think the final score was 26-22 Ryle won. HC slowed it down most of the game, and Joe Allen did an outstanding job D'in up Perkins. Ryle just made a couple big buckets down the stretch, and HC blew it at the free throw line.

I think I said that size wouldn't play much of a factor in this one. Great game by the Indians though and a great win. So much for Holy Cross losing by 20.:creepy:

Oh by the way... Giwa is about a head taller than Ahern.

Ahern's matchup with Giwa presented problems all night for the Raiders. HC had a ton of back door lay ups late in the game. Size wasn't much of a factor because HC out hustled them for every loose ball. When HC generates offense thier a very good team IMO. Thier "D" was pretty much inpenetrable the first half. Good win for the Indians, best of luck against the Bulldogs.

Not surprised the JV game was so close and such low scoring. I believe Ryle JV only had 13 points at the half against Covcath.

HC just earned themselves a few spots in the rankings tonight. Congrats to Coach Goetz and the Indians.
