They looked good that ONE week. Good teams play good consistently, not in spots. The Giants won 12 games this year, it isn't like they are a fluke.

 

And it's convenient that you keep forgetting that Jacobs was out for that game. You like to mention how important he is to the Giants, but you like to forget that he didn't play against the Cowboys that week :lol:. And it was in Dallas...the Giants have only lost something like 3 or 4 road games in the past two years and two of those have been in Dallas. They don't seem to play well there. If the cowboys and giants met in the playoffs, it would have been in Giants stadium...

 

Going to be REALLY funny if they get beat out quick this year. If so they are the Dallas Cowboys of 2007-08! It will be a field day on here if that happens. I really think if the Vikes didn't lose their DT they would have created an awful matchup for the Giants this year.

The Giants barely lost to the Vikings with their backups playing the entire 2nd half...the Vikings do not scare me, especially in Giants stadium in January.

 

If the Giants get beat out quick, I'll live. I can take the heat on here. Actually, knowing what it will be like on here only makes the games more interesting .

You forget to mention that Marion Barber has been out over a month! He is the nucleus of what Dallas does. They missed his attitude and pounding running style. I'm not so sure they aren't in the playoffs if he was around. Fair or not?

I think the 1st two moves are getting rid of Phillips and T.O. They need somebody to draw the coverage T.O. does but I'm tired of his antics and all the me first WR's in the league. I wish they would have moved him and gotten Boldin!

 

Barber played against the Giants, and he's not as important as Jacobs is to the Giants IMO. Tashard Choice did very well IMO in Barbers place.

I can handle Jacobs being more important but there is an argument there. Eli hasn't been anywhere as good without him and neither have the Giants. No Barber and Romo wasn't as good neither were the Cowboys. See the coorlation? Choice has been really good but so are Ward + Bradshaw. Both teams are 3 deep at RB but neither are as good without their stud bruiser IMO. It has been downplayed a lot but Barber out has hurt the Cowboys pretty bad. There is little doubt in my mind they win the Pitt game with him and that puts them in the playoffs.

I think the Giants losing was due to more than just not having Jacobs.

 

1.) Dallas was better that night.

2.) Two Giants linemen went down early and had to leave the game.

3.) The back up linemen were terrible, and Eli got killed 8 or 9 times for sacks.

4.) The running game never got going without Jacobs.

So going by your other posts an average team was better than the Giants on that night? Is that what you are saying? Dallas was hit with A TON of injuries this year but that is never talked about. Also when you lose your power back it takes away from your team. You of all people should realize that. Bradshaw and Ward are really good backs but they don't bring the pounding fear that Jacobs brings. Same as Choice/Jones compared to Barber. Dallas played teams like Pitt's, Philly and Balt down the stretch with a rookie back trying to pick up those blitzes. That is asking A HECK of a lot for a 3rd string rookie RB to pick up blitzes from those teams! Nobody talks about that when they slam Romo. R. Williams learning the playbook + dropping balls. T.O. crying and dropping balls. Their emotional leader out the last month. Rookie 3rd string RB against Pitt, Balt, NY, Philly. Witten playing with broken ribs and a bum ankle. Secondary banged up most of the year. It all adds up. That isn't even getting into playing in the toughest confrence in football + teams like Tampa, Pitt's + Balt out of confrence. I am really dissapointed that Dallas underachieved this yerar but unlike a lot of fans I'm not going to get into "the sky is falling" mode!

The Giants lost their best defensive player for the year before the season even started. Their star WR shot himself in the leg, Jacobs has missed time, some DB's have missed time, some linebackers have missed time, Fred Robbins has been playing with two broken hands al year long....every team has injuries.

Big difference in the start of a season and the end of a season good try though. Dallas beat the Giants straight up when it counted this year. You can paint it any way you want in fantasy land but either Dallas is better than you try to let on or the Giants are as good as you let on. I think it's a little bit of both myself. You were the one that brought up Jacobs being out talking about injuries by the way.

Dallas blew it end of story. The Giants haven't been playing good but have a bye + should cruise through the 1st game. I don't see them getting by Carolina if they play again though.

I'd be more afraid of the Giants and Panthers in the NFC, but that's just me. The Eagles are good at times, I just don't think they got what it takes to win it all. I could be wrong...
