Final

Not a Picasso by any means but the Mustangs improve to 2-0 in the First National Bank Holiday tournament at BRacken Co H.S.

Russell was a very hungry, scrappy, ball team that played hard to the buzzer.

Brossart trailed 10-6 at the first quarter stop, and 14-7 early on in the second period. Brossart struggled to take an 18-17 lead to the locker room at halftime.

With BB on top 24-23 midway through the third period, the Stangs went on a 10-0 run which pretty much was the difference in the game.

Mustangs: Patterson 6, Armstrong 4, Webb 7, Morscher 12, Kremer 7, Rieger 14 - BB: 13-3-17/26-54 7-1

Russell: 8th Grader Kyle Skaggs 12 (4 Threes), Casey Stapleton 12

Russell: 10-6-3/5-42 1-7

Congrats to Brossart on the "W". :thumb:

I didn't get to the tourney today, but I watched Russell last night. They look young and small, but they definitely do not give up. They will have difficulty if the 3-pointer isn't falling.

Brossart will win this tourny.

Mustangs just keep rolling along. Looking forward to watching them at the MCIT.

Done!!!

Rieger - 6-0-6/8-18 He scored enough in the 3rd quarter that I had to put two field goals in the box above his - sorry missed them! Now adds up to 54.

Setting up to be a Brossart- Lewis County final, who would have thought that? Harrison County vs. St.Patrick for 3rd. Bracken County vs. Augusta for 4th. Fleming County vs. Russell for 5th. Is this about right, unless there is an upset or 2?

Not certain, but I think in your scenario, the last two games would be played for 5th and 7th places.

I stand corrected.
