The Cincinnati Enquirer has Rowan County with two players in double figures. Kissinger (26) & Martin (13).

The Boone County coach still hasn't figured out that you can't let one kid beat you. I have seen her let this happen time after time.

 

Kissinger was averaging 13ppg prior to the Boone County game. Obviously she is not impossible to defend .

Is Rowan better than last year? Coach Tackett has them rolling.

Rowan is very good. Very fast, athletic, and play team ball.

 

They remind me of the Conner team from last year.

I have seen both teams play. I predict Rowan by 10 in the finals of the Nothern Exposure Tourney.

They had it wrong. Official book has Brockman and Riddle with 10, Muncy with 2 and Neely 1. What the "Cincinnati Enquirer: probably didn't say was it was 63-37 when the starters were removed around the 3:00 mark and RC had 15 assists on 20 field goals. Not exactly letting "one kid beat you."

I think the Boone County coach was out coached this game. Keeping a very quick guard back at the 3 point line was not effective. Tough loss for Boone, but you have to use all your talent against a team like Rowan County. You cannot beat five with one player!

I'd agree with that. Rowan County is very well coached and their motion offense is extremely difficult to play against. They ran the Boone County man-to-man through screen after screen after screen and patiently worked for the open shot.

 

Kissinger happened to get open shots through that offensive motion and she knocked them down. I don't know how many shots she took for her 26 points, but it didn't seem like a lot. RC certainly wasn't trying to set her up as their scorer. I haven't followed them but I suspect several of the Rowan County players could have nights like that depending on who ended up open and was hitting their shots. Happened to be Kissinger in this game.

Rowan is - IMO - a top 20 team again. Very impressive win over an awfully good Boone County team.
