December 17, 200817 yr Back up to 1.80 at many places in my area(Central,Ohio)but did you know theDemand for gasoline over the four weeks ending Dec. 12 was 2.7 percent lower than a year earlier. Demand down price up Out of curiousity.... 1) Where did you get that number for demand? 2) Why would you compare demand to last year's demand at the same time? 3) What is the change in demand over the last few months?
December 17, 200817 yr Back up to 1.80 at many places in my area(Central,Ohio)but did you know theDemand for gasoline over the four weeks ending Dec. 12 was 2.7 percent lower than a year earlier. Demand down price up 2.7% lower than A YEAR AGO, how much lower is the price at the pump than A YEAR AGO? I bet it's alot more than 2.7% lower. Come on now.
December 17, 200817 yr Author 2.7% lower than A YEAR AGO, how much lower is the price at the pump than A YEAR AGO? I bet it's alot more than 2.7% lower. Come on now.An AP article I read today.
December 17, 200817 yr Gas in Henderson jumped to $1.69 from around $1.44 this weekend but is falling back right now. It was $1.55 this evening.
December 17, 200817 yr Here I did it for you, gas Prices a year ago were an average of $3.05 a gallon. So it's MUCH MUCH MUCH lower than a year ago, and people are complaining about it raising slightly because demand is down 2.7%. If you're using demand as your gague for what the cost should be. With it being down a whopping 2.7%, then the cost should be hovering right around $2.95 a gallon. What's the argument.
December 17, 200817 yr Author Oil closed at 40.06 I think today. Go and see what the price of gas was the last time oil was this low.
December 18, 200817 yr Oil closed at 40.06 I think today. Go and see what the price of gas was the last time oil was this low. The price of the oil isn't the only thing that dictates the cost of gas at the pump. It still costs money to get it refined and to the pump. That's not going to decrease just because the cost of the oil does. FWIW, the last time crude was at $40.00, the info I saw had the average price at the pump being right around $1.98:rolleyes:
December 18, 200817 yr The current averages throughout KY are the lowest in 4 years. Is that still not good enough?
December 18, 200817 yr The announcements of OPEC cuts in production are driving prices up. If its members cheat and continue to produce more than they have announced, prices will drop again. Are the conspiracy theories about big oil companies being able to fix gasoline prices ever going to stop?
