Not sure but in the past 10 years or so I would have to say Clark has the lead before that I'm not sure.:dancingpa

I know for a series of years in the late 80's and 90's Coach Rison had Clark's number. It has since swung back towards Clark.

After watching the game I had a few thoughts.

1. No matter how many times I see Stenzel play, going back to middle school, he still impresses me. The kid can just flat out play.

2. Zollo appears to be a legit 6'8 but he's got a ways to go to be SEC caliber. Then again he's only a sophomore.

3. That Clark has a sophomore laden team really makes one think they are just beginning to really come together and are scratching the surface of what they could be in March which is the opposite of Montgomery who relies on several seniors. I think as the year progresses Clark will separate itsself from Montgomery.

4. I was impressed with the effort Montgomery gave. I thought this game would be worse than it was. Montgomery battled until the very end and Clark didn't put them away until abou 3 minutes remained.

I can not wait till the second meeting on January 16th if I am correct? This has to be one of the best games and the best rivalry in the state!

I can't wait either. But something tells me Montgomery County is not as anxious for the rematch. They will definitely be playing a different Clark team.

What something is telling you that? I'm sure the Indians surely are just as anxious.:thumb:

Why would they be just as anxious? If GRC puts this all together they will be a definite contender for State! Where will MC be on that?

Yea, how can you say that? Clark was lucky to get out of this game alive. I guarantee the Indians can not wait till the next battle! Maybe the next time they will shoot 30 Free Throws and the Cardinals will Shoot 9 Free throws like Indians did last Friday night? Obviouslly Clark is the more talented team but alot of calls went their way Friday Night!

Come Jan 16th Clark will be twice as good as they were Friday!

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I agree GRC is the better team but the other night was a great indication that the Indians are not far off the pace. GRC puts a couple things together and there going to Rupp no doubt. Although if the free throw Margin had been much closer than it was Friday night where i believe, Clark Co. shot 30 FT and Montgomery Co. shot 9 FT, the game at Montgomery County should be something for the Cards to worry about!

Anytime these two teams square off it's always a good game but with this years talent level from GRC I just don't see MC keeping up with a matured, experienced GRC team!

Anything can happen in high school basketball. A few years ago, a very good GRC team got beat by a good Estill County team in the first game of the district and did not get to the region. Last year Montgomery County wins two regular season games only to get blown out in the district championship on its home floor. Anything can happen!

Yes that did happen then but this GRC team is probably the most talented in a long time if not ever!

Both teams will have time to mature before the next meeting. GRC has Scott County, Doss, and Scott (Covington). Montgomery County will face University Heights and Christian County (Hopkinsville tourney),LCA, Dupont Manual, and possibly Scott County,Anderson County, and/or Madison Central in the Montgomery County Holiday tourney.

I think Preston and Tristian would disagree with you.
