Jade Haddix (Jr.), Channing Fugate (Jr.), Zack Epperson (Jr.), Dakota Ritchie (Jr.), Josh Fletcher (Fr.)

 

Both have a lot of talent returning.

 

You left out one very prominent player for Central who is also a Jr.....Tim Patterson (6-5, 230, FB/TE/FB). He will be a total monster next year for the Yellowjackets.

Anyone know how many tackles Patterson had?

What about MVP honors?

Breathitt needs to become more efficient in the passing game...

 

If Haddix can improve and a couple of the underclassmen at WR can step up, this offense could be a monster next season. They've got the running game. But, if they could develop a consistent and explosive passing attack to keep teams honest, or make them pay for keying too much on Fugate, then look out. I like the potential of the freshman Josh Fletcher.

 

I think the Breathitt defense improved dramatically from the start of the season. All the pieces are there...now they just have to be willing to put the time and effort into making it happen.

 

I'd say Central is a solid bet to return for a third consecutive title game. Breathitt will likely be the pre-season favorite, but Belfry and a couple others will have something to say about that before its all said and done.

Central has a very good football team. It seemed like they came out a little flat, but they woke up when Breathitt scored to go ahead 7-0. I was hoping my Bobcats could catch them off their game early, capitalize on some mistakes and get up by a couple of scores and see what happened from there. Alas, it was not to be...

 

Their superior depth helped as the game wore on, as the Bobcats wore down a little I believe. But, they were simply the better team. Not a whole lot to say other than that.

Because I like what Breathitt has coming back better than Central...they lose Cobble and they lose their leading rusher. :thumb:

 

I foresee Breathitt having a much better chance if they happen to meet again next year.

 

And, Breathitt may be able to work on the depth a little...get a few more guys playing just one way.

But wolf, you said they wouldn't win two in a row.

 

FWIW I spoke to one of Central's assistants right after the game and he couldn't say enough good things about Breathitt (lonewolf's pre-game rants notwithstanding). He knew they would be in for a fight and it took a strong 2nd half before Central put them away.

 

Even with the losses of Cobble, Wilson & Co. Central still has the majority of it's team back for 09.

 

Ask if they can three-peat? By definition they are the only ones that can.
